I kept having odd fumes after the catch can install.. tracked it down to the hoses i used. Found this info on a different site ...SAE 30R7 tubing has a high permeation and is not recommended on vehicles newer than 1985. Gates states that the 30R7 is 37 times higher than 30R9. Gates claims 30R9 meets the California CARB standard and is below 15 grams per meter squared per day, putting the 30R7 around 550 g/m2/day. I have ordered some gates Barricade fuel line that is one of the lowest permeation hoses available at 1 g/m2/day, so I'm hopeful that this will permanently resolve this issue.

Strange. I've got 30R7 hose, didn't notice anything. My setup is below intake manifold though, not near cabin air intake. The hose was supplied with my OCC, made in USA FWIW.

    Finally installed the OCC successfully.
    1. Front and rear shocks
    2. Cleaned Hybrid battery fan
    3. Cleaned intake manifold and new gasket
    4. Cleaned EGV cooler
    5. MAF sensor
    6. New PCV valve
    7. OCC installed
    8. Engine and inverter coolant

Unfortunately once I turned the car check engine light is on. Here is code on the attachment. P261C short in coolant pump B.

    Anyone familiar with this?

Car is running fine after all the work but this new check engine light issue need to fix asap.
How can I tell if the car is overheating?

Give it a few more startups. I had check engine light: 5 or 6 start ups and it went off, didn't return. Hopefully something similar in your case, maybe a momentary poor connection.

OTOH, could be coolant change related, as I guess you're suspecting.

Congrats on all your work btw. (y)

Might be some coolant or grease in the water pump connector that's shorting the leads? Try spraying both connectors with electronic contact cleaner

Can you please share a picture or diagram of those connector connections.

Thanks again everyone for your patience when I asked so many questions about OCC routing. With all of your help it was a clean install and I followed Mendel install location.

Assuming you used MAF cleaner, it'll work for those connections too.

Drove 100 miles or more today. Still check engine light on.
But I really wanna thank to the guys who came up with OCC idea.
Prius drives awesome without any noise compare without OCC.

That's very expensive hose. And 30R7 is fuel rated. (even 30R6, pretty much the same?)

Are you sure your first hose was the source of leak? I would test your original setup by seeing if it'll hold vacuum, say with a mighty vac if you have it, or maybe you can jury-rig something with a air pump. I'm suspecting an OCC seal leak.

    That is pricey :(.

You could always pressure it up if you had an compressor. If it has a leak, soapy water will point you to the location ;).

All connections on the engine coolant pump. Google "Prius engine coolant pump"

It's underneath the first big intake tube (resonator). The resonator is next to the top of the radiator.

Yeah .. no leaks bought from advanced auto.. .. rock auto has the R9 for 3.99 for 2 ft... Thats where i bought it from. The entire length of hose has an oil/gas odor to it.. when it was hot outside thats all you smelled with outside air venting in. Now its colder out so the smell has subsided some.. i found some other forums for Ford Ecoboost OCC having similar issues with the kit they bought
