Oil Burning :(

    1.8 motor and 4,000 RPM is thrashing these motors.

    4,000rpm is not high rpm for a petrol engine

    OK then show me another 1.8 that only revs to about 4,000 RPM lawnmowers are exempt.

    From what I can see you guys in the states seam to be reporting more oil burning problems than most, from what I can see you also are only now switching to low sulphur fuel unlike us in Europe who have been using it for decades..... Could this be causing the sticking ring problems.?

    USE Conventional motor oil. Not Synthetic. Or at least use Semi Synthetic. my 2010 after switching to Conventional old fashion oil does not burn as much. Almost no oil burn. I use 5w-20 from amazon.

    My 2013 v has 240,000 i run Rotella T6 10w 40 and it doesn't use a drop between 4 to 5000 mile changes.
