Been there, done that... Disconnected the odometer on a 1989 F150. Drove from Bozeman montana to the seattle washington area. Spent a day driving north/south in the seattle area, then went back. Probably was about 1600 miles round trip. Drove the whole time on the tach, knowing speed based mostly on rpm's. There is only 1 rule in making such a modification or adjustment. If you can't figure it out on your own, you are not qualified to be doing it. The odometer police stoped me 3 times on the way back, but none of them were able to nail me for my crime.
