Well, I received my lights but the install did not go well. When I plugged in and tested the driver side light, it was "hyper-flashing" when the turn signal was activated. So, I had to reinstall the original light. Also I couldn't get the two white plastic clips back together on the vertical portion of the interior liner. Does anyone have any suggestions how to do this?

That is a damn slick car.

We've come a long way from when the Prius was that funny-looking boring little car.

    Great pics. Thanks for sharing.

Sounds like you got a faulty unit, probably either a defective flasher relay or harness.

Don't worry about the white fasteners. They're not necessary for stability. The yellow fastener is most important. As long as you get the yellow fastener, two 10mm bolts and retainer clip lined up and tightened, you're good to go and there should be no play at all.

    HEY THERE KMKREMER !!!

    :):):):)

What has worked for me in the past is that I have ordered the following item from V-LEDS.COM. I am sure you can find them other places for different prices, but this is where I have purchased this particular unit to help with the Hyper Flashing issue that you are experiencing: 6 OHM 50W 2 BULB LED LOAD EQUALIZER RESISTORS TURN SIGNAL BLINKER FIX WITH MOUNTING PLATES AND COVERS | 1 PAIR

Again I am sure others may have similar products that have worked for them, but this is what has worked for me particularly !!!

I purchased these with the covers to help provide heat protection for the surround area.

    Hope this helps !!!

Another great Tech Day with Kevin and his PP Prius !!!

We installed the Garax Shift Control Switch !!! This mirrors the same product that I have (only in silver) made from OGS !!! Kevin ordered his Garax Shift Control Switch from Rakuten.com !!!

Here are pictures from the installation that day !!!

The Garax Shift Control Switch ...

Removal of the Shifter Trim Console (This prys straight up)

You can remove the plugs from behind the Shifter Trim Console to ease installation, please remember to reinstall these prior to completion.

Then it was time to remove the OEM Shifter
There are 3 12mm bolts securing this item in place.
Take note of the plug you are removing here as this will be the plug you will Plug and Play into the Garax Shift Control Switch.

Then it was time to plug the Garax Shift Control Switch.
Feed the wire through the Circular Opening and Plug and Play with the OEM plug you removed earlier.

Then firmly insert the Garax Control Switch in place ...

A special thanks to Rodney for his help and perfection on the installation. I really like the look of the new shifter and its all black look. It goes well with the steering wheel.

Yes, its the LHD shifter from Japan. The shifter is only available with buttons in that configuration. Its easy to get used to.

My car came with the special badges, it is the Prius Plus Package. It is an option from Toyota. It includes the TRD lowering springs, sway bars, body kit, 17" rims and badges

The company promptly refunded my money (I didn't even have to send the defective untis back). I think I'm going to get a pair of the Valenti's.

My issue is not with the white fasteners on the lights. It's with the two plastic fasteners that hold the grey felt liner on that you need to pull off to get behind the lights. Does anyone know how to get these back on?

Not necessary as the LED taillights already have this resistor installed. If they are hyperflashing then either a wire is disconnected or even damaged. On the Valentis the resistor is soldered to a small PCB that is wired to the connector. Those liek the other LED taillights are pretty easy to disassemble so repairing the hyperflashing is not a big deal (of course they should not be defective at all).

If I'm understanding you right, you're talking about the interior liner that you pull loose after you remove 10mm bolts and latches on both bottom corners of liner? You're having trouble snapping in the top of the liner? I don't know what the problem would be, it just lines up and snaps in like below. It's not necessary to remove the entire liner (i.e. no need to pull the other end of the liner loose).

That's true for the Valenti lights but other full LED taillights like Crystal Eye that bino and w202mae have come with a dedicated flasher relay box. No idea about Spec-D Tuning though.

Yes, it's the two white fasteners you see in the picture. I'm lining them up and pushing but they're not snapping back together. I'll give it another try. Thanks.

Well, the company already gave me my money back and let me keep the "defective" lights. If anyone wants to do the fix you've outlined above, I'll sell them the lights for a good price. Let me know.
