Obama wants to make the White House green.

    The problem is that up until recently, getting a car with really good fuel economy either meant no power or having to go to a turbodiesel engine with its attendant higher NOx and diesel particulate air pollution problems.

    Fortunately, gasoline engines are actually quite efficient now, thanks to computer controls, fuel injection and increasing use of variable-valve timing. The arrival of next-generation variable valve timing systems (e.g, Honda's Advanced VTEC and Toyota's Valvematic) and application of direct fuel injection could boost engine fuel economy 17% or more. :)

    I can see a company like Nanosolar install lower cost solar panels on the roof of the White House within a year or so.

    I'd assume that Bust paid for his Prairie Chapel Ranch while we paid for the White House but then that is perhaps an assumption indeed.

    Interestingly I saw an interview with Laura Bush last week (06 December 2008) on Planet Green channel's Focus Earth with Bob Woodruff show and was left with the impression that she is the environmentalist catalyst in the family.
