Nope, NutzAboutBolts gave the wrong links to his new videos. The links go to the viewer's own channel. I saw the videos pop up Youtube already under my subscriptions.

    Many thanks!

Hey: could the coolant hoses be left attached to the throttle body, maybe you could still pull the throttle body out of the way enough, for intake manifold removal?

How many miles was that at? <120K miles recommended for this, in the video

How much ($) roughly is that gasket, between intake manifold and engine?

What would you think is the source of all the oil? The PCV valve, and/or the EGR I guess.

When I recently took the EGR connector pipe off I ran a slim bottle cleaner brush with longish handle (maybe 10" length) as far down the intake manifold passage as it would reach, and while I'm not sure it seemed like it was going all the way across the intake manifold, maybe with intermediate exit holes along it's length? Just speculating: maybe intake port number one (leftmost) was "extra nasty" due to the EGR passage terminating at that end, with a large opening??

Again: really appreciate the professional videos, pictures worth a thousand words!

it looks like you can, but you'll have to angle the solenoid hoses around the coolant hoses when removing and reinstalling it. Then you'll have to find a place to rest the throttle body.

Great video on the intake manifold cleaning. I do want to throw in my 2 cents. I did this cleaning twice in the last month. The first time, I somehow caused gunk to get lodged in the smaller holes inside of the ducts going to each cylinder and caused a really annoying misfire. The hole in the side from the EGR does not open up into the manifold on the 2010 model, I can't speak for other years. I found out that each of the little holes had to be reamed with a pipe brush and then the main intake from the EGR had to also be scrubbed with a brush. My Prius did have 200k on it at the time so it may not be as much of an issue when doing it before you have a problem.

yeah I just saw that small hole when everyone was mentioning on cleaning it. I will go in there deep next time I pull it out. So far, it hasn't cause any problems for me when I drive. It must be really bad for some people who wait for this maintenance. I will recheck it in 60-90k miles or when I feel there's any engine issues. This cleaning was done at 139k miles. :)

Why would you lube the plunger? It'll attract the soot from the exhaust and start sticking to everything that was lubed and will start binding the plunger...

Even just a few minutes with brake cleaner, goes from this:

    To this:

What's the difference, between carb cleaner and brake cleaner, pretty close?

@danlatu 's trick to use a long 20 Ga copper wire on a power drill (at low speed?) would help too. Maybe also using a small balloon plug (made from something like thin mechanic's glove) to hold the solvent in there, sluice it around.

The one thing I do is leave the cooler and valve connected, invert the assembly so the opening is on top and the egr valve is on bottom. Fill with Brake Klerk and put a rubber glove over the top. I leave it sit in a bench vise so it stays upright while doing other garage activities.

I have a spare cooler and valve, so I can do this at my leisure and allow it to soak for a good period of time.

I think Purple Power may be bad, for the EGR, which is aluminum? Maybe PP is a strong base (lye), like oven cleaner, reacts with aluminum. Can anyone confirm, the cooler is aluminum?

It is magnetic, so it's not aluminum (also heavier too). Stainless Steel is my guess.
