I didn't mean for my comment above to be a threadjack. I was just pointing out scenarios which argued against waiting until winter to buy a Prius (of course winter delivery seems to be what most people are being promised right now.) But since you mentioned it, I, too, am looking for a big change in this election year.
I traded my 2000 Explorer on November 30, 2007. My wife thought maybe we should wait until spring. Right now I don't think I could sell the Explorer to any sane person. I'm glad I moved when I did. We both had close calls!
