I don't seem to have that problem, all though I have NRA, and an AR15 rifle sticker on that lower glass piece on the hatch.
I leave the stickers off for fear some dirtbag would take notice of them on my car in the driveway. Wouldn't want to come home to a gunless home Mike wanderin around on my phone
I hear ya, and I always have to bring my gun in the stores with me, and back in the house just for that reason. Don't leave it in the car ever, which probably a good thing anyway.
What is the speed limit. Here it is 70. If you are not moving with the flow stay out of the fast lane.
Haven't noticed this in my year ownership. If I tap my lights they will back off. Most do not reliaze they are to close. I stay in the right lane & keep my CC on.
I also think many people don't realize they are so close. I have caught myself catching up to others and taking a bit to realize, hey I better back off. I know I tend to catch up to what appears to be a cool looking vehicle just to get a look at it. Maybe that is what people do with the Prius because it is so very different looking compared to other vehicles on the road. Mike
It's just Prius envy. There is no one classification... I would say it is a good 50% love/50% hate. I do notice it more with the Prius than the Rav4 or the other cars I have had though (Ford Focus, Scion tC, Geo Metro). I try to give respect as much as I expect it. I think the truck drivers are a little more receptive to you then normal car drivers. I try to act like them in that respect. I think they get how you are treated and a bigger percentage treat you with respect. And it helps that you show them that you are not acting like one of the stooges out there cutting in and out and riding their tails.
I had a 1997 base 3 cylinder model. It did not even come with a stereo or power anything (steering included). I could run that thing as hard as I wanted and lowest MPG I got was 39MPG. I hot rodded that thing delivering pizzas. I called the A/C button my Turbo button..lol
Maybe it's the abundance of Prii in Washington state, but I rarely get tailgated in my Prius and even less so, even when I'm cruising in the left lane on the highway, feel that it's due to the car that I drive.
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that Washington is a "Green" state . I'm guessing a lot of your citizens are super mellow and laid back.
This is a funny topic. People drive on my rear bumped like I am the biggest A-hole in the world for driving a Prius at the speed limit in the right lane. I could drive my Tundra to work at 55mph on the interstate and not one person will get even close. When someone really gets up on me, I just turn off the cruise and let the car start slowing down. Then I like to see just how long they want to boast their assholishness before they finally zoom around me.
This happens to me in SoCal a lot! I am no hyper-miler and always am around 80mph on freeways, still to be tailgated and given the finger on multiple occasions. When I pass others that are slow in the left lane, they speed up so I cannot or then ride my bumper when I do. Not everyone is trying to get the best mpg possible. We're just trying to get to point B just like you. I get the finger almost every week. People hate being passed by us. I do like the tailgate b/c it blocks the persons headlights when they do ride my bumper.
I do exactly the same thinggg . I usually drive 80-85 mph in the carpool lane. But the larger SUVs (i.e. ford suburban)... One time, when I was in the carpool lane some person started highbeaming me (thank god I have tinted windows) so I let my mph drop to 75 mph, he obnoxiously honked at me and cut me off. He didn't even have a passenger. These cops gotta get their act together. I see them drive pass single drivers in the carpool lane all the time.
