Durability? Maybe but build quality? There's a difference. The panel gaps have a tighter tolerances for Lexus vehicles and I believe there are more screws in Lexus vehicles vs. plastic clips in Toyota vehicles which explains why there are more rattles as the car ages on a Toyota than in a Lexus. Maybe in the 90s there were the similar but since 2000 when Toyota decided to cut costs to compete with the other manufacturers (who have caught up or are closing the gap on the reliability front that Toyota enjoyed), the clips replaced screws.
