Something just occurred to me. Since you are at 8A and 120V, that 960W might be less than the heater draws. It might have been heating when you thought it was charging at the beginning of the charge cycle.

Nope, that was the scheduled time that I selected to charge my battery. I didn't have a fully depleted battery

You said you scheduled the departure time. It might have started early and the current we see is running the heater, not charging the battery.

but there's only one duration where the current is active which is the charging of the battery. You see I plugged in the EVSE the same time I turned on the logger.

Also notice in the chart the recognizable drop in current at the end of the charging cycle indicating that it's the battery being charged.

Just went outside to check on the traction battery heater setting, and it's on, I never changed it to off.

Wednesday night it's going down to 15 degrees so I will perform another 24 hour test with the current set at maximum and with charge immediately when plugged in.

never unplugged it during the whole test:cool:

I can't for the life of me figure out how to send you a direct message @Prius Team

Ok, here's the latest, It looks like it works at maximum power (12 amps) the beginning of the chart on the left hand side is the 5 hours it took to charge the battery (EV at 0.9 miles when started charging) and then there's evidence that the traction battery was being warmed, twice during the 28 and a half hour test. Daytime temperature was about 24 degrees F when I disconnected the logger it was 15.8 degrees F Prime charging status 2-9-2017.JPG
