Love my leaf. I drive 10 miles to work and back. Normally charge it up about every three days. My other half dirves it when I on travel, work is 25 miles each way on the freeway. He usally drives faster than 70 MPH[

This holiday, we Leaf'd it from South O.C. up into the hills of Glendale - 65 miles away and about 2,100 feet of elevation rise. On arrival up in Glendale, we had about 1/3 charge left. We charged for about 6 hours (only 120v available) while we were all eating turkey, watching football, playing taboo etc ... other holiday things. Only got recharged back to about 64% SOC going home. We had miles to spare when we finally got home - because 1/3 of the return trip was down hill.

Never doubted we'd be ok. I just used the chart:

The range adjustment factors at the bottom of the table are very
interesting; factors for temps, altitude +/-, wind, battery degradation.

But nothing about having the windows open. :p

I suppose for everyday driving on short familiar routes these corrections
are not needed. But when contemplating a trip out at the extremes of
    range, very helpful.

But I know a lot of people who can't do the math, simple as it is.

can you get all this in a pre-made Excel spreadsheet?

Great Chart except for one thing. the temperature adjustments. i agree on temps going down although i think the degradation is not linear. i would subtract ½º C for each degree below 70 to about 55ºF then one there after.

as far as temps going up? that depends on what you can handle. i see no range degradation at all up to 80º and anything after that is dependent on how much climate control is used which is calculated based in "on time" . in summer, i prefer open windows where any performance loss is heavily dependent on speed.

my best #'s i got was up to 6.3 miles /Kw and was when temps were in low 80's at suburban speeds.
