NHTSA Tracking Braking Loss on Prius Hybrids

Here's an article from the NY Times today, titled "Toyota Has Pattern of Slow Response on Safety Issues". My dealer has, so far at least, been pretty responsive -- a VP replied to an email inquiry from me yesterday (during the big storm in the Midatlantic). But the dealer seems to have less information that I have been getting from this website. I think that behavior by Toyota is reflected in the Times article, and is certainly what has me starting to stew.

 

That's my mother in the backseat, and I'm sorry to report that it happens with every car mfg & model she's in.

 

I would say that I have almost made contact several times with other cars near intersections because of this issue. Although the contact would be at low speed it is contact none the less and therefore a safety issue... IMO

 

you'll have to leave more space between you, and any potential conflicts.

 

i'm finding my resale value way below acceptable. i had no idea it was the brakes. i thought it was the gas.
