yeah I'm not as ambitious as some of those in the Gen III mod thread! I may get a ODB2 device to turn off that reverse beeping though...

Well, you should at least get a shark fin so that we can spot you out on the road.

I do like the look of the shark fin. At least the one on the 2012 is better than the 2 foot antenna that was on my wife's 2005 Corolla (I was driving that before my Prius). That got broken off in a vandalism incident...we wound up putting black electrical tape on it and calling it an improvement.

It's weird because I live in a town of about 80k people and there are a lot of Prii in town, but I've never seen another one with the wheel covers off or after market wheels for that matter. Most of the driver's are on the elderly side of life however.

This is our 2015 Prius four that we picked up may 25th with 7 miles on the odo. Yes, we still have the hubcaps on since I was over ruled by my better half on removing them. I'm hoping one or more falls off soon so I can pull the others in the name of "not wasting money" on a replacement. Lol.

    She's a real beauty. Congratulations.

It would be terrible if the wheel covers got stolen in a parking lot, or something. They might end up on craigslist, or something.

I bet you could get a shark fin on there without getting any heat.
It's easier to ask forgiveness than it is to ask permission. :)

Lol. I'm just waiting for the "newness" factor to wear off.

On my previous car I was able to swap rims and do some slight exterior things without notice. (Took 4 months to notice chrome rims were gone in favor of black SRT 4 rims.)

My wife has not yet commented on the new Softex seats I had installed last weekend. Either she genuinely doesn't notice or she's afraid to ask how much I spent.

Nice post. I took out my rear wiper. That thing is heavy! you'd save 5-7 lbs i'd think. maybe more. I also removed the stubby antenna and replaced with a plastic shark fin. Half a lb. at least. I did gain some weight with the 17s though but not a terrible amount. roughly 6 lbs per corner. Which isn't bad considering the handling and traction advantages.

Spare tire is a good idea... I like being able to change my own tire though.

I have everything I need to delete the rear wiper, but I found it too difficult to get the rear hatch panel out. I need some more time with the wife not around listening to the popping in the garage to get it out.

I'll probably jinx myself, but I don't think I've used a spare tire in like 12-15 years.

The panel is easy to pull. You will pull the rear-most panel out completely and the top panel that goes around the glass, you can just pop the lower section off. It all pulls out using clips. i didn't even use tools. just my fingers.

the wiper motor is just 3 10mm nuts.

do you have a suitable cap? silicone it good while you're in there.

So sitting in the trunk looking out the closed hatch, I got the top piece above the rear window out and the two pillars out but that's were my success ended. I do have a interior panel removal tool.

I bought one of those 1-3/8" metal caps from Lowes, primed it and painted it satin black. I did get some silicon sealer as well.

Cool. Keep trying at it. It's easy. All of it just pulls out. it's all clips. I think the lower piece and the mid piece might slide into one another before popping it back on but that's easy. just pay attention to how it is layered.

Very pretty in white. I have the midnight black 2015 Prius C. I will post pictures as soon as I meet the qualifications on this site (just joined a few minutes ago).

Brought her home on the 1st of the month and so far I tinted the windows and put LED lights on the inside of the car, license plate, and parking lights. 2015-10-14 12.52.08.jpg

I got a very good deal at Gosch before, but it was their Ford dealership.
