Congratulations on the new wheels! (Very nice - I love the colour!) You've come to the right place to learn all you'll ever need to know about your Prius! Lots of nice folk! …and masses of information which folk are only too willing to share!
Just bought a 2013 Prius C4, 7,500mi I needed some gas mileage. So far so good. Initial upside: Huge MPG - 56 on the way to work 60.7 on the way home Display - way cool displays to help you figure out how you are driving for mpg Multiple tripmeters Road Noise - not near as bad as some reviews I've read Handling - tight, feels good Value - 20k for brand new C2, I got this C4 for right about that out the door Space - Way bigger inside than the wife's Fiat 500 Satellite radio - its on for now, now sure why, I didn't pay for it?? I know there is more but I only had it two days Downside: No rear passenger dome light Headlights don't turn on and off by themselves Need to know/do Window Tint, need that bad. Snow tires for the Colorado commute Remote start? Help! Is it possible, ideas? I'd like to add a small powered subwoofer, like a 6.5 or 8in in the hatch. Would post a pic but having trouble figuring it out.
The headlights are automatic (when so selected), they will automatically switch over from Daylight Running Lights (DRL) to "full" night brightness when the 'light sensor' (little round button on passenger side of dashboard next to windshield) detects a lack of sunlight (slight delay happens for tunnels, etc.). Also, when you stop at night, the headlights will (a) stay "ON" until they time-out, or (b) you can manually 'force' them to immediately go "OFF" by clicking the LOCK button once on the key-FOB.
My new Prius. Three months later and now I see what the rave is all about. What a great car. And this is from a former full sized truck owner.
Nice wheels! Congratulations on a wise choice, and welcome to PriusChat! You'll have lots of fun here, and learn all you'll ever need to know about all things Prius related! - Wil
Ahh!! Nice! See?! I looooooooove my Prius! I can't believe I went for so long without a Prius. Every time I see a non Prius driver, I think to myself "Oh man, I feel sorry for you. " Then, when I see a Prius driver pull up by me, there's always a good vibe! It's not like "Oh let's see who's faster..." Usually the Prius drivers on the roads here will drive up to my car, say Hi and then slowly pass by. Never that mean vibe like you get from other cars. There are so many quirks to learn from your new Prius.... I don't even think the manual covers it all! I hope you enjoy your car for many, many years to come. Secret trick I've learned: to get better gas mileage, you can try Cruise control but if the roads are hilly, it's not going to be the best result. I am still learning how to achieve 50 mpg or more without cruise control. Believe me, it's an addicting game. I am putting on about 150 miles a week because I do purely highway miles and live right in the heart of the city. /: That's from barely driving, too. When I have more time on my hands, it's worse than that. I think you'll find PriusChat will be your go-to source for tips and tricks regarding your new car. I started coming here before I even purchased my car... haha! [: Anyways, Welcome to the Prius Club.
2013 Prius C4 Just bought it about 3 weeks ago. Added 15in winter wheels and Toyo Snow tires ( gsi 5) and Tint I would load some pics but can't seem to get any to post from Photobucket. Is there a how to thread?
Been flying around on the snowy roads here in NW PA this past week. This Prius is like a little tank! Won't get too cocky though. The braking on slick snow covered roads is phenomenal! I average 50+ mpg while putting on an average of 800 miles a week. This Prius is being put to the test. Pictures from the construction site where I am presently working will be posted next week.
I like to conserve battery power, so I double-click the LOCK button on the fob, which immediately shuts the lights off.
I appreciate but I don't think it's an option on the Prius C. It does work for on the DRL lights but the regular lights are manual it seems.
I finally figured out my other laptop wont let me post pics, this one will. I've already transferred to my winter set up of tires and tinted the windows. No other changes
It was so hard to find snow tires for the 16in wheels and they were pricy. So I opted to to get some 15in wheels and snow tires. Winter Toyo Observe GSI-5 tires, I love them
2015 White Persona Prius. Purchased at Keyes Toyota in Los Angeles. 35% Tint all around with 50% on the windshield. I would post photos but the "forum rules" is stopping me right now.
