Sorry it took so long, but here are pics of the GPS mount. I forgot a pic of the wipers, but you can find them online via their website. I hope to get some rain this week to determine if I will keep them or not. I may be developing a squeak on the driver's side. If that is the case, then I will switch back to the Bosch Icon. Hope this helps.
Thanks - yes, this helps. I've seen these mounts before and with a flat widescreen GPS I can see where this would be great. However, my GPS is "old school" - like a small TV - If I mounted it like that it would sticking way too far out. This is how my mount works. I put it over on that side due to the power cord - I have to have it plugged in in order to get traffic alerts as the power cord contains the receiver for traffic alerts on my GPS. What do you do about the cord?
My power cord plugs in from the bottom (mini usb) and I have enough clearance to avoid any pinching of the cord, etc. It hangs between the power button and the vent while resting beside the shift knob. Conveniently, this keeps it out of the way and not a distraction. I can see where yours would stick out too much in this scenario, though. Don't think your mount looks all bad, but I understand wanting to make it look better. Maybe a new GPS when black Friday rolls around again is in order?
Hi Roxanna I've been driving my Prii for two years now, and ALWAYS wave at other Priis, but very few wave back. out: What's up with that? We chat with one another, is there a reason we can't wave? I'm willing! :hand:
My wife and I felt the same way, until we realized that we meet so quickly and then we often cannot see through the windshield of the on-coming Prius! Sure, there are stuck-up Prius Owners (not-too-many) but most are very likely to return a (side-window) knowing smile of "We are lucky folks, aren't we?" Prius owners; Don't be bashful - give a wave when you see us! JohnC
2008 Package '0', magnetic grey? tinted windows (I actually did it myself) Leather seat covers (I like them a lot) Hitch receiver Chromed wheels pinstriping bluetooth aftermarket alarm aftermarket
2009? Where did you get an 09? I have a buddy on a list waiting for his pkg 2 mag grey and they told him the 09's will not be out until next year???!
My wife and I bought an '09 on August 31 at Lassen Toyota in Albany, Oregon. We were very lucky. We were there looking at Corollas and Camrys (big Toyota fan here) and they had two Priuses that had been pre-ordered. While we were there, the couple that had ordered the blue '09 came in and changed their mind. Our sales guy told us they had backed out and we jumped on it. This was the first '09 Lassen had got. The other pre-order was a 2008. Ours has the backup camera, smart key and some other stuff. We've been driving it all over the place and it is awesome! I went searching for the steepest hills I could find in this area and was surprised to find the car has NOOO problem with steep grades. We went to the Oregon coast the next day and showed it to my parents. With 4 large adults and an ice chest full of oysters aboard, the car happily scooted up the steepest climbs around. Gotta love the torque of an electric motor! I do have to say that the twisty road handling isn't as good as my fairly low-slung '91 Accord, or most coupes or sedans for that matter, but it's not sloshy and piggish like a big car either. All in all, we are very satisfied.
Got it from John & Phil's in Corvallis, got on their list back on June 4th and it came in/allocated to me within the quoted 60-90 day timeframe.
Tweezak, Congrats on your purchase, always nice when something unexpected happens in your favor. Honestly no offense to you, but I wounder why they didn't first offer it to others on their waiting list... I have seen craigslist postings for them as well, eluding to such shady practices before they offer it to their other wait-listed customers. Yeah, it's surprisingly has more power than I expected, just got back from Salem in mine today and handled great on the freeway.
The same thing happened to me when I purchase my 2008 in late May. I was there for a test drive (they had a rental on the lot) and the dealer said that someone had backed out - and did I want it. I think they do this because most people on the wait list are waiting for specific colors and packages whereas I just said what ever comes in next. Concerning the 2008's I'm curious as to why there are none coming into this area. My friend who is waiting was told that the dealers expect to still be getting 2008s well into 2009 and that they don't expect the 09's in this area until second qtr 2009.
Hiya! I had a goal that started back in 02 to own a prius and it just came to fruition. I "ordered" my prius and they told me it was a 10 month waiting period and tried to sell me a corolla hybrid. I said 10 months was fine, because I wanted my tron car!! 4 weeks later I was driving it. i <3 my prius.
Here's my brand-spankin' new 2008 SPM Package 3. I'm getting 50.2 mpg so far on my commute (70 miles a day at 70 - 75 mph on the New York State thruway, so that's better mileage than I was expecting). Seems to be very willing to glide on the tertiary streets, too. Love it so far!
A coworker just told me about that little discount -- I had never heard of it! As soon as I get my plates & reg, I'm on it.
For some reason they don't really promote it much. But, a word of caution. Do the math first because if you have a long daily commute you may be better off with a commuter pass. They won't let you have both - ie, there is no such thing as a combined green/commuter pass. In upstate NY here, I had the commuter pass but due to being allowed to work from home several days a week (the ultimate green solution!), it was cheaper for me to move to the standard green pass and drop the commuter pass. There is a ton of information out there about the pass - if you use the MTA bridges, etc it gets really confusing. Some people have gone so far as to have 2 tags - one for MTA bridges and then a second green one for normal use. They really need to simplify this whole tage thing. Good luck, and happy driving.
