I gave the dealer a list of acceptable colors (mostly the left side of the color page in the brochure, plus the red - over my wife's protests) and unnaceptable colors. Theoretically the Seaside was my third choice. Magnetic Grey was the first, and I forget the second - probably the other Blue. I'm hoping the color holds up and doesn't fade. The ClearBra looks a bit daunting. I've hung wallpaper before, though, so assuming I can control the dust during the installation I think I'll do OK.
WOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO . . .My car arrived today -- July 9, 2008!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Picked her up kinda late, so pictures are a bit dark . . .
Here's my new Mag Gray Touring Package 2 from Karl Malone Toyota in Albuquerque (thanks to Greg Ward - a good sales guy in the internet department). I have an appointment for the end of the month for window tint, clearbra and a reflective pinstripe.
Just picked up my Spectra Blue and averaged 48.1 mpg on the 30 mile trip home! I waited 2 months for delivery, with 2 other Prius' being offered to me. The Spectra Blue was my second color choice, but I am glad I took it. It is very deep, rich color. So far, my experiences with Gentile Toyota in Racine, Wisconsin, has been very positive. They went through the vehicle with me thoroughly and answered all my questions. No rushing, no pressuring. Quick question -- has anyone ever tried putting nitrogen in their tires? Has this helped fuel economy?
Yeah, nitrogen. I live in SE Wisconsin and the concept of filling your tires with nitrogen is slowly appearing. I think it was something that was used primarily in commercial vehicles in the past. They say the tire will maintain its pressure longer, wear more evenly, longer tire life, etc. Of course, they can say a lot of things. Average cost for a nitrogen fill is about $25-30.

I just got this sweet thing yesterday, after nearly 8 weeks -- and was the wait ever worth it! I love her already! On her maiden voyage to work this morning, she averaged 50.9 MPG, and given the heat around here right now (and my inability to not use the AC), I'm thrilled! I had a great experience with Ed Martin Toyota in Anderson, Indiana, and can't wait to get back behind the wheel. Sorry for all the exclamation points, but that's how I feel right now! (I'm no longer HoosierHopeful, but HoosierHappy!) I have appreciated the helpfulness of PriusChat -- just being able to read it all. And now--meet Bella:
