Hi everyone this is my first post here. Just picked up my Prius last Friday and am absolutely loving it! It's a 2005 I-tech model with only 24,000 kms on it. I absolutely love the challenge of getting the least litres/100km. So far my best is 3.9L/100kms which is 60mpg is imperial. Here are a few pics:
Very good looking! Surprise , we forget that the biggest half of the world puts the driver on the right-hand side of the car!
beautiful! so weird seeing the steering wheel on that side. makes my brain zing! Is that melba toast in your avatar?
just took mine out for a drive for the first time. I love it! I drove by a few priis and I was hoping we would exchange smiles or even a head nod.... But nothing from them
Yeah I guess it would be weird. I was just in Europe so I'm kind of used to seeing it on the same side as you guys but the first couple of days really threw me. I tried to get in a taxi and did a big o_0 when the drivers seat was on the opposite side! Nah it's not Melba toast. A friend of mine made it for me because she thinks that my prius is really gadgety and its basically a moving toaster lol.
You would expect a little sense of camaraderie from fellow Prius owners; a thumbs up or something. Perhaps our passing with other Prius is so short-lived, here is no time to respond. We have experienced the same as you. Once in a while, there's a happy, knowing smile coming back at us!
I see very few around here in the albany ny area too. I get excited when I see one - I did discover that there is one in the parking lot at work - the other owner actually found me and made it a point to let me know how to go about getting my green EZpass for the NYS thruway. I had him beat, though, ordered it as soon as I got my registration. So now I get 10% off tolls and it's actually a green tag too. I'm in my 4th tank now and finally seeing an average MPG for the tank over 50. I'm guessing it took some time to "break in". I tend to babble, but my main point was "welcome, and enjoy the car".
Thanks for making me feel better. I started to think that when other prii drivers saw ME smiling (with enthusiasm) at them, they started to think... "What a wack job....she MUST be a newbie." I'm a newbie, but NOT a wack job.
There is a whole thread here on PC about 'to wave or not to wave'. LOL I bet you look both cute and geeky waving at other Prius drivers. Personally I don't do it, but I can understand the comradery. I save it for PC. Besides, how am I supposed to maintain my 'hard, poker face' if I'm waving with a big smile? If you see another Prii out an about, post your missed connection HERE. maybe they are reading that thread too then you can say you saw each other.
Picked up my Spectra Blue Package 2 from the dealer yesterday. Here is a pic taken at Hunting Island State Park, near Beaufort, SC.
oh, LUCKY you ... in both SC and OHIO ... here in Indiana, it'll be a full 7.00% on the full purchase price! that'll add about $1800 total to our STILL expected / anticipated purchase of a Seaside Pearl / Pkg #3 this coming July ... or August ... or September ... or ........
I looked at your photos.. do you actually have two different graphics on your car? whoa, and they thought I was nutz!
The way I did it was to use the advacned mode on the reply and then click the little paper click to attach files (pictures). I'm sure there are other ways, but this was the way I did it.
