I do not have a Gen 3 but @Sooner Al should be able to answer your question, at least in regards to the Prius v.
2012 Prius Five I was only looking for a Three, until I saw this baby. I'm pretty happy about my purchase. I'm coming from a Lexus is300. Still trying to get through that learning curve of driving automagic (1st automatic car) and Prius. iPhone ?
I made the user profile a long time ago. I was looking at a 2015 Prius package 3 at the time. Now I mainly browser this forum from my phone, and don't know how to change. iPhone ?

Here's my new Prius! Had a 2007 with 136,000 miles. Kept it all the way up until the AC started leaking freon, and the dealer wanted $2250 plus tax to fix it. Decided I was better to get a new car, so I bought a 2016 Prius c. Not the car for me, so I was back at the dealer 5 weeks later and got the car below! More than I ever thought the car was going to be! Love it, high payment aside.
Here is my Prime Advanced. Was dusk when I got it home last night. 102mpg on the first trip of 39 miles. the first 28.5miles were fully electric.
I have been working on/with Priuses for quite some time now and have wanted one for the past few years but I'm exceedingly cheap. I came across this poor little thing, abandoned left for dead... Had about everything wrong with it. 12v battery, shot. Traction battery so dead the poor thing would not even start. Inverter/converter pump, shot. Heater control valve, shot. Plugs and coils, some bad some ok, so I just swapped them all. Wheel bearings you guessed it, shot. It is a retired Baltimore Taxi has well over 200 thousand on it and appears to have had a very tough past life. So after repairing and or replacing the forementioned items and a few other things that crept up, I got it on the road. oh, and the tires hold air now after about 100 miles it's been averaging in the high 30s to mid 40s mpg. Not bad considering it's been mostly switchback, windy, hilly roads. The black blotches are not photoshopped this is how it looks. I'll post an after pic of the body when I get that far.
Cottage, sunset, my loved one and Prius - perfect harmony and combination. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
so I have to say, the c has been a pleasant surprise. Rolling into its fifth year, no issues, and still achieving 50 mpg average easily. Glad to have something dependable!
