A one year warranty means there really never was a warranty. Even the crappiest refurbished batteries using decades-old cells offer a one year warranty. Drive it as much as you can and see what happens.
FWIW here is the refurbished battery. From Hybrid Auto Tech in the Los Angeles area. Is there a way to confirm that this is is indeed a different battery than the original? For instance, I’m wondering if there are unscrupulous shops that just change the housing to make it look new.
All of this is quite possible any scam you can imagine somebody else already thought of it and it's probably implemented it on a large or small scale I mean battery recharging and reconditioning has been going on a long time in many industries it's a crap shoot at best I guess however you want to look at it New modules is made with not good quality control in place can be just as bad of course they're new and they should have a warranty but it's the inconvenience and having to invoke the warranty and then do the work to make the new parts function how you need so sure probably been there and done that by somebody
Easy to repaint a battery housing and slap a label on it. Why not drive over to their shop and get to the bottom of this yourself?
