Something to add to confusion :) The audio system is JBL. The GPS system is Denso with NavTeq maps.

different, JBL only makes the amplifier and the speakers.
Denso makes the part that does the Navigation

Harman (owns JBL brand) on the other hand makes the non Premium system (or just a box since display is provide by different supplier learnt from a different post) however the Nav engine is provided by other company maybe NNG which can be found in other OEM vehicles. Looks like they signed a deal to make future GM system too.

Harmen and General Motors OEM deal worth $900 million

kind a like generic cereal... Its all the same stuff, but when you put it in a pretty box and put a logo on it, you can charge more :)

Gee3 - It is likely that the currency of the GPS Database installed in the Entune Nav of your 2014 is back at the currency level of the last GPS Database Update that came out in 2013. I believe that most recent update version claims to be an update as of the GPS Map Data available as of 2012. Your new home, and the streets in your new development, likely are not in it yet.

What I would suggest to you do as a work-around for a “HOME” Geo-Posit in the Entune’s Navigation function, is to punch in the physical address of a residence/business/location closest to the front gate/front entrance of your development that is recognized by Entune as being in the GPS Database. That way, when you select “HOME,” Entune Nav will function reasonably accurately with respect to displaying the remaining distance, estimated arrival time, etcetera. After all you know where you live, and once the Nav Lady gets you near "Home" you can take it from there.

With respect to considering “Best Practices For Personal Security,” the Navigation GPS Database "Gremlins” in Entune's Nav probably have done you a favor by preventing you from inserting the address of your home into “HOME” as a destination entry for the Entune Nav. Considering security threats to your family and you, it is not good practice to put the specific, actual address of you home into the Nav. The reason it is not good practice is because, if some one were to steal your car, or you/it were to get Car Jacked, all the perpetrator(s) in your car would have to do is to punch in “HOME,” and then they could follow the Nav Lady’s directions up to your front door, and commence "Raping & Pillaging."

Because of this real security threat concern, I do not put the precise physical address of my house in as “HOME” in Entune Nav, but rather an address of a Geo-Location close to my house.

Security systems deter thieves. Even just buying a sign to put in front of the house....

I have always used a Garmin. So when I got my car I kept the Garmin in the car as a back up. I did sit in the driveway & figured the thing out. At first I did not like it but stayed with it. Now I love it. I never use my Garmin. Gave it to my daughter. The Bing Search Engine feature is great. Like anything else it does have a learning curve, but once learned it works very well.

The precise physical address is on the registration & insurance card sitting in the glovebox.

In my experience the physical address does not coincide with the address provided by the unit. If I were to navigate to my address I would end up on the next block.

JimN - FYI: I do not have "The precise physical address on the registration & insurance card sitting in the glovebox." The most recent 2013 update to my Entune/Nav GPS Database for the local location of the operation of my Prius v(vee) here on the Space Coast, is geo-positionally precise in the neighborhood area where I reside.

On the non-premium, non-HDD NAV how do you cancel a destination you have already "start"ed the driving to? [This is a 2014 PiP base.] Maybe I changed my mind about where I'm going, and I'd like to cancel the trip/destination.

SRL99 - If the non-HDD NAV on the 2014 PIP is like that used on the Prius v(vee), all you need to do is press the OPTIONS Button and then hit STOP GUIDANCE.
