The 2025 Camry has these features and all trim levels are now hybrid.

I wonder if the people who complain about the electronic parking brake also complain about the electronic transmission parking pawl.

i did not really complain about the parking pawl until it left my Prius stuck blocking a traffic lane. The Hybrid system shut down due to a collision and the car could not be moved due to the parking pawl. A special procedure allowed us to put the car in Neutral to move it.

Yeah that's kind of ridiculous. Dreading the day our plugin minivan dies in the middle of traffic in the future & we can't put it in neutral to push. Better try to find if there's some secret decoder ring to make sure that doesn't happen. This is the kind of stuff why I miss a simple foot or pull lever to apply or unapply an emergency brake, never mind going downhill some time in the future with no emergency apply-able brake if I were to have a rock bust a hydraulic brake line.
    EDIT
Found the secret decoder method. It requires a special tool

You'd have to be unlucky enough to bust two brake lines.
Modern cars split the four brakes onto two separate hydraulic circuits.

    Thanks.

I’ve tried searching the manual to understand procedures for getting the 2024 Prius into neutral when the battery is dead in order to tow. I searched towing, flatbed, etc. within the digital manual with no luck. It’s off topic but previous posts are referring to this topic. Needing to replace dead 12V before towing makes no sense to me. I’m asking because historically I’ve had tow trucks arrive with zero Prius experience.

ah, for the days when you put the car in neutral and pushed it to the side of the road.
tech is great, when it works

Wonder what the last year was - that had a good old-fashioned "shift to neutral" & manual emergency for brakiing ... our sprinter has both .... and our 2018 plug in can manually shift to neutral & won't auto park brake

What would you do in your current car? You've got an electronic shifter in it, too.

From what I was reading here I was under the impression the Gen 5 was handled differently under these circumstances. If not, I’m all set.

The Toyota inventory is showing that the 2025 model year is arriving at the dealers in early February–early March.

@daisy555, are you still getting a 2024 or will you opt for a 2025?

Or wait for another year so that you can get the mid-cycle refresh in 2026 with lots and lots of enhancements. ;)
