Are you sure that is the only difference? I have 2007 Prius (version 6.1) and was hoping that the new version (7.1) has updated restaurants and other new businesses in our area (MA).
It would have to have more features before I would consider spending $250. for a software upgrade (especially since I just purchased my car).

Does anyone know the hidden keys to use in 2007 Prius (version 6.1) to bypass the navigation lockout, when driving? There have been several time I would like my passenger to add/update our routine, while I was driving.
My friend has Prius 2005 and knows them for his version of the navigation system. He touches the "volume" screen in two different places, he tried it in my 2007, but it did not work. Are there different hidden keys per year of car / version of nav software?

The version 7 disc does include updated routes and locations as well.

There isn't a way to bypass the lockout on 2006 & 2007 models from the touchscreen.

I'd say "Fat Change that new restaurants, etc. will be available." I was hoping 6.1 would be significantly better than 4.2 (which came on my 2005). However, there are businesses over 5 years old that don't exist in the data base.

wow.. CDs though.. but.. wow. Even if Toyota charges, at least make it reasonable. $250 is a lot. Hell a TomTom ONE is $250 right now. Might as well save up and buy a new nav unit every few years instead.

That's the only difference we've found so far. It'll be impossible to check if there are new POIs and such. (e.g. two new restaurants open up at the same time. One in my area and one in your area. It's quite possible that my restaurant doesn't show but yours does. From my POV, the disc is the same. From your POV, it's updated assuming we never asked each other about the restaurants.).

Can we buy NAV DVD 7.1 in bulk, like the EBH and get the price down?

Personally, I was hoping the new DVD would have the new expressway extension in the Southwest suburbs of Chicago, I-355 from I-55 to I-80.

There are a few other new roads in the area I was hoping it'd have, but that's the biggest.

By the way, question for other Chicagoans. . . .

Is there a way to indicate to the NAV when I'm on Lower Wacker? It always seems to assume I'm on Upper Wacker, and then tells me to take turns that don't exist on the lower level, and misses turns that do exist. Not a big deal, but a bit annoying when I'm trying to get somewhere downtown and I don't know my way around too well.

The DVD is the entire OS. You put it in and leave it. It automatically updates your system, but you need to leave the new DVD in to run it.
