New car buying decision: Prius vs Civic hatchback

My boss is somewhere around 6'-4" I guess and weighs probably well north of 300 pounds. He fills up the front seat of his full sized SUV like a race car driver fills the cockpit of a Grand Prix racer. When he got into the front passenger seat of my PiP, I had already slid it all the way back and said a little prayer. He JUST fit. Left knee/thigh against the center console and right against the door. Both knees brushing the dash. First words he said? "WOW! This has a LOT more room than my wife's Civic."

 

The Honda Civic have excellent manual transmissions.
