    Justin,

Sorry to hear about the results of the scan and the tumors. It is nice to see you with the ever positive attitude. Plus the fact that the surgery gives you a chance to beat this. If anyone can, no doubt it is you.

Hang in there and you will remain in my prayers.

    Dwight

Right now I'm just hoping I am a candidate for the surgery. Not everyone is lucky enough to be able to have it. I'm looking forward to another cool scar. lol It'll have to beat this one!

Unfortunately i doubt the Prius Truck if it ever came out could tow the large trailer I use at work. :(

I'm thinking along the line of a Ford F-150 with the ecoboost 3.6L. 23mpg hwy is not great but having a turbo truck is kind of cool. I wouldn't have to use it everyday either which is nice. Save the Prius for most of my commuting.

Wow, that's bad news. I'm so sorry. I do hope you can get the surgery and that it finally gets rid of the cancer. Keep us informed, and I'll be thinking of you and hoping for the best.

If surgery is the way to beat this stupid tumor, then be it. Cut the bugger right off and throw it in the garbage where it belongs. You have come a long way, always upbeat and in good spirit, and you are an inspiration to all of us. Keep smiling and you are always in our thoughts.

The colon cancer (technically rectal cancer) metastisized (spread to other areas of my body) and formed tumors in my liver and my left lung. Even though they are in different locations they are still considered colon cancer tumors and not "lung cancer" which is a totally different kind of cancer and responds differently to treatments. So think of it as colon cancer cells that have migrated to other organ.

Cancer starts off in a particular organ or body part then eventually enters the lymph nodes and bloodstream (stage 3+) and will end up in other organs where they set up shop and start building new tumors (stage 4). No matter where they go they are still considered cancer from the original site. For example, breast cancer often migrates to the brain. Colon cancer often migrates to the liver and lung and rarely the brain. So once the cancer has metastasized, it is considered stage 4 and survival rate goes way down. Depending on the type of cancer stage 4 usually results in death within 5 years. New technology and treatments have dramatically increased survival rates but living beyond 5 years is still difficult and often no more than 20%-40%. Thankfully I have youth on my side and good vibes from all of you. :)

Therapy would normally slow or prevent the spread

Edit: Explanation of spread deleted, I just noticed that Justin gave better explanation in post 530.

It really sucks when you have learned that much about cancer, unless you are doctor.

    <heavy sigh>

    Not good, my friend.

I'd trade body parts for a longer life, too, but it sucks that you have to keep making those tough choices.

Stay strong. You know your friends are thinking of you, and hoping for the best.

Indeed. When you learn so much you start to realize how ridiculous some of these miracle cure claims are. Seriously? Wheat grass juice will save me?

I really don't care how many scars I accumulate or how many organs are hacked into. I just want to live for another 30+years. My life is so great and with so many caring friends like you guys it just seems so wasteful to go out now. So I'm doing everything I can to stick around and annoy the PC moderators for as long as I can. :D

Sorry about the results. Hang in there. You're a young guy, and that great attitude is an important part of the battle, so stay positive. Lots of good wishes coming to you from lots of people.

Thanks again, Lee. I'm doing my best but it seems like so much of it is out of your hands once you hit this stage. I just wish I could turn back time and eat healthy most of my life instead of the processed crap most of us ghetto kids eat. For those of you still healthy, start eating better while you still can. You have nothing to lose and you'll be helping local farmers and ranchers while helping your body!

Hopefully if I am eligible for surgery it will be like tossing the holy hand granade of Antioch at this cancer.

You guys are an inspiration to me. :)

Thank you. I'm sorry for my attitude in that other thread. I really like you so I was just annoyed at the thought of you being negative. :) Are hugs appropriate? :D

My brother-in-law had Stage Four lymphoma about twelve years ago. It was all over his body, but he beat it, and he's healthy as can be. You can definitely beat this.
