There are many articles on bad OEM tires on this site. Take them to your deler and demand that tToyota replace them for free. I did and they replaced them free @ 30K. I ran into the new service manager for my dealership at the barber shop....didn't know he was the SM. We talked and he said that Prius has a BAD problem with eating tires and Toyota DOES know about it. Anyone with less than 30K and thier tires are badly worn,... DO fight with the dealer and DON"T believe them if they say they don't know of any problem. Be sure to print and take with you any and all threads from this site with you and give them to the service manager. DEal directly with the service manager or go higher if you have to.;)

I had to replace all four factory Goodyear tires at 27,000, and was told by the store that this about average for the Prius. I bought Pirelli P3s, with an 80K mile warranty. They do give me better mileage (3-4 mpg improvement) and better handling, but are a bit nosier. I swapped out the factory rims for some nice looking alloy ones about six months. They sure are more attractive than the dumpy ones that came with the car.

I ran my OEM Integrities over 67,000 miles, and they still had tread. I was just tired of looking at them, and the wet weather traction caused the over-active TC to go off at the slightest puddle. Mileage was never a problem. I rotated them every 10,000 or so, and never had it aligned. I do 90 miles a day, 99% freeway, and run about 42/40 when I bother to check it. Your mileage may vary.

We only got 24,000 out of the factory Goodyears on our 2007 and purchased Uniroyal Tiger Paw AWPII tires. They are very good tires with that are very quiet, have excellent traction in water/slush and seem to be wearing quite well. Anythings got to be better than the factory Goodyears.
