I never heard my rear battery fan until the hybrid battery went bad. My hybrid battery would show charged and discharged within 100 yards, prior to the battery going bad.
At 160K, hybrid battery in 2005 Prius failed, 'new' replacement arrived at dealer in one day after order placed, total cost (including labor, taxes, etc.) = $3,100, with 12 month warranty, unlimited mileage. Very murky response to question as to frequency of HD battery problems, including #2 bald-faced 'mis-statements. Scary.
