Isn't it covered in another thread how difficult it is to get the white paint to match on a Prius????? There are auto rtecycle yards out there, you have to shop around. If you can find one to match color, perfect! But will Maaco guarantee a proper color match?
I would hate to wear the depreciation from an amateur repair on a car as good as a Prius. I'd pay the insurance excess and go to the best repairer I could find. What am I saying, that is just what I did. I better correct myself, I didn't pay any excess because another person hit my car. If I hit an animal I would have made an insurance claim and paid the excess.
Yep, this is also what I was thinking. For just $500 you can have a pro do it no matter how much the full bill costs...
An OEM aftermarket fender will cost under $100. Take is to a body shop to get it painted and clearcoated to match properly, and bolt it on. Not hard to do. Removing and reinstalling the fender liner is harder. Did you try other body shops? Sounds like $1500 to $2000 should be the right price. Insurance companies are usuall pretty good about deer hits, they don't raise your rates like they do with collisions. I carry a $1000 deductable, so in my case, it is definetly DIY. In your case, maybe not.
The alternator of that one is so easy to replace that even I was able to do it. Ofc, I live in SAAB country so spare parts are easy to come by and priced accordingly. I wouldn't mind a few pictures of that vehicle.
oh soooo sory to hear that i hope that she and everyone is ok my wife came close to hitting a dear with my prius thank god did not
