The information on DTCs are limited. Need to convert from decimal to hexidecimal.
    4 53 1 A 93 0 0 0

Just checked my notes according to the Vass family. The 4 53 1 is the standard DTC check response from the ECU enquired. All the ECUs return the same 4 53 1 for a DTC check, so it is definitely the responce of a DTC check and not something else. However the A 93 is definitely the DTC code. I have no idea how you get the INF code. Most DTC codes start with a P (powertrain).
So P0A93 - Inverter cooling performance. Fail safe mode is "normal driving" according to the Toyota Fail-safe chart.
OBD2 regulations require that the Malfunction Indicator Lamp or MIL illuminates. If the DTC trip does not recur 3 consecutive trips it will go off automatically.
So chances are that you may have not noticed the MIL illumination when it occurred. Although there is normally a beep sound when a DTC occurs so you should have noticed it unless you had the sound system up too loud.
Since you are using a PHEV kit, that means that the inverter would be working a lot harder to drive MG2 than it would if there was no PHEV kit. I would keep an eye on the inverter temperature.
The hobbit gives a service bulletin about this DTC on how the inverter coolent pump has this problem on the 04-06 models. I assume that after 06 the inverter cooling pump has a higher flow rate to improve inverter cooling. This may only apply to Prius 04-06 in USA. You may be able to have the pump replaced for free despite the warranty expiration if the TSB also applies to your New Zealand Prius as it is a known problem.

    http://techno-fandom.org/~hobbit/cars/maint100k/EG001-07.pdf

The "Yahoo" is another mode I have added. It comes from the unsolicited CANbus message H038. It comes from the HV ECU and it is the first data byte. The HV ECU is asking that the ICE should start. Normally due to excessive acceleration. I noticed that when this byte was equal to 196 or 200 or 204 (decimal, not Hex) it happened when I was using excessive acceleration and the HV ECU kicked me out of EV mode.

    FYI
To my knowledge hybrid interface aka hybridinterface no longer has product(that I could aquire new/used) .....norm has stated he was closing the website and anyone knows please let us know but for the current time nothing available.

You do have these choices Plug in Supply (saw a used one on ebay without GBS Lifepo4 cells) cost about $2200...
Elithion Orion has a few USA dealers/installers you will need to search (start search at autobeyours) they do install
Also electric car parts aka electriccarparts (utah) is now listing a phev kit for about $8500 USA

MDtech sells a phev kit in Europe (sush prius chat poster)do a search for this too. The kit is a improved version of the Enginer PHEV kit and under a different brand/name

I am unsure about Enginer you may want ask prius chat poster eric becky as he has some contact/ and further knowledge

We certainly DID notice the MIL and big RED triangle ... Not sure why you thought we may not have?
Used Duinomite later to find the DTC code for it ...

Anyway have recreated and only occurs on long trip AFTER PHEV is depleted AND climbing .. The Algorithim of BMS+ , after PHEV cuttoff reached tries to keep the battery at the set voltage point so spins up when climbing if the battery voltage drops to low to bring the voltage back up to "normal" low set point.
Will get Toyota check the pump as they have issued a recall notice last year ....

    Hi Paul,

I sent you the Canview files by email file attachment. Gmail would not let me send the basic library files (.LIB files). So I had to leave them out. Gmail says that the .LIB files are executable and are a security risk.
I tried to upload my ZIP file without the basic library files but it still rejected my upload. Maybe you will have better luck.

EDITED: I managed to change the extension of the library files from .LIB to LIZ. Gmail accepted the ZIP file and sent it to you. You will need to change the file extensions back to .LIB.

Test it for a while and let me know how it goes. If you can, upload the ZIP file in a post. As the Priuschat website will not allow me to upload the ZIP file, it keeps saying "there was a problem uploading my file", but would not specify what the problem is.
Now I will see if I can communicate with the moderator about my upload problem.
    Thanks,

    John

It uploaded OK today. At this link http://priuschat.com/attachments/canview-mmbasic-ver4-4-11042014-zip.63784/

    UPDATE 26/05/2014:

Now includes a setup page. The time and date can set and the temperature can be changed from metric to imperial.

Press "m" on the keyboard to change to metric units. i.e. oC

Press "i" on the keyboard to change to imperial units i.e. oF.

For the date press the "d" button on the keyboard. Type dd-mm-yyyy then press enter.

For the time press the "t" button on the keyboard. Type hh:mm:ss then press enter.

The setup page is only accessible in the accessories one position. This is done by pressing the prius power button (after off) without pressing the brake pedal.

    UPDATE 26/05/2014:

Now includes a setup page. The time and date can be set and the temperature can be changed from metric to imperial i.e. degrees farenheit. This makes my basic program yanky friendly and for those countries which refuse to change over to the metric system to their own detriment.

This accessories one position is accessed by pressing the prius power button (after shutting down Prius) without pressing the brake pedal.

Nope. I wish Geoff would stop updating. The new version should still support the old one. There should not be any problems with using Version 4.5. The Canview program may work better under Version 4.5 due to "many bug fixes" by Geoff.

We have now done away with the PS/2 Keyboard ...
Installed bluetooth Serial ( SPP) module (HC-05) onto the Duinomite "arduino" connectors (using COM4: serial @ 9600bps) and
using ANDROID device ( Smart Phone or Tablet) as a touch screen input to MMBasic over wireless BT as the input device.

Only needed to add a couple of line of code to CANview for Duinomite.

    open "com4:9600" as #4

    k$ = input$(1,#4)

Currently using BlueTooth SPP Pro app in "keyboard" mode to define 12 button touch display.
(currently defined as the 12 Fx keys )
Has the potential to use the "Mobile Basic" app or other Android application languages for more sophisticated input interface such as Speech output and Voice recognition interface to DuinoMite CANVIEW

Nice job. Has the potential to be hands free if using voice recognition. Like to see Youtube video of that!!!!

Have NOT tested all these new features yet BUT have found some bugs in the Fx key usage ....

If your on PLOT display and then push NEXT ( F3) crashes at line 24 "exit sub" with unknown command.

Also if on LOG screen display (activate log) and then push F3 ( next display) also crashes ( need to note exact line # )

Also after these crash WatchDog does not restart the app??

Will let you know what more i find on these ....

No worries. I normally do not spend much time pressing the buttons so I prefer other users to find any bugs. I will wait a couple of weeks for a full bug report from you.

I am also increasing the font size of the text in the Status box. I find it had to read in my old age.
