I only washed my 2020 Prius Prime XLE Classic Silver Metallic once in over fourteen months, and that was the day before I traded it in for the 2021 Prius Prime Limited Blue Magnetism. LOL It still looked brand-new after I washed it.

However, I've now realized that was very silly of me. Automatic car washes are only $5 around here, which is basically nothing. Driving a dirty car decreases the visibility tremendously, making it unsafe to drive. I will wash the Blue Magnetism once a month and perhaps I will also use the Turtle Wax Ice products @ClemsonSteve recommended to quickly wax it.

I probably wash mine every other month. But I do spot wash bird turds and stuff like that. I never ever go to the automatic car washes but will occasionally go to the self service kind.

I used to wash my car myself, too, but it took so much time and it was so much work. I'm not worried about scratches with the state-of-the-art automatic car washes available around here.

Shades of blue are indeed becoming popular lately, which is a good thing, as they are bringing elegance to the Nineteen Eighty-Four world of cars we live in.

Prius Prime Limited in Blue Magnetism is a rare find. Even in Southern California, also known as the Kingdom of Automobiles, the Toyota inventory search is only showing five of them.

Which has blue in the mix. Actually I like aqua and teal, just not that shade on cars.

I was thinking exactly the same when I wrote my earlier post.

Any Prius Prime is a rare find in these parts.

On the (universal) subject of washing; due to much curtailed use of late, I'm down to one hand wash every six months (spring and fall), in concert with the twice-per-year hand wax. Our 2010 yesterday, completely off-topic I know:

I see about one a month on average. Still, last night on the way home from work, I stopped for a few groceries. A Chevy Volt pulled in right in front of me nose to nose but one slot to my right. When I got back to my car, there was a Gen 3 Prius parked in the spot immediately to my right and a Tesla Model X immediately to my left. As I put my stuff in the car, the Volt driver got to his car. I hailed him and pointed out the little high efficiency gathering we had there and he said, "I guess we're making progress." :D

Indeed. I just read an article in USA Today about retooling a GM factory that will make electric cars--including the new electric Hummer and an all electric Cruise. They will also make their own batteries. We just built a new house and installed two 240V plugs--one on each side.

Two spares installed on one side? The car must be slanted toward the left. ;)

Vancouver isn't north. He must be going skiing. ;)
    From Wikipedia:

Snow falls in the higher-lying areas of Greater Vancouver, such as Burnaby Mountain, Coquitlam, and North and West Vancouver, every winter. It is also common in places close to or at sea level, however in lesser amounts. There is a general misconception among visitors and residents of other parts of Canada that Vancouver does not receive any snow at all, but in fact there has never been a year in which traceable snow has not been observed at Vancouver International Airport. The year 2015 marked an entire year of no measurable snow; only a trace was recorded on December 17, 2015. Environment Canada has ranked Vancouver in 3rd place under the category of "Lowest Snowfall" among 100 major Canadian cities as the annual average of days with snowfall above 0.2 cm is only at 8.7 days. Vancouver's coastal climate has nonetheless allowed it to be ranked in 59th place under the category of "Most huge snowfall days (25 cm or more)", placing it above cities like Calgary and Toronto as Vancouver averages 0.13 days annually with snowfall accumulations above 25 cm (within a calendar day).

Yeah, do you see any snow? Getting to be cargo cult in lower mainland BC. Currently 8C (46F).

In LA?? No, I've never seen. However, it briefly snowed last year but I missed it:

Nevertheless, it did regularly snow in LA until 1962—before the global warming has become significant:
