My 2008 Prius, and other things, EMF Measurements!

Tin foil is great for electric fields, but you should consider a layer of mu-metal for the magnetic shielding for your hat.

 

I am developed serious neuropathy in both of my feet. I have Parkinson's like shaking all day long, and it is getting painful. I've been diagnosed with Parkinson's, though some other doctors say it's Lyme disease. In any case, a couple of my doctors have been saying that they've heard that the Prius can cause problems with people's health. At first I just scoffed at it. Then I borrowed what's called a Tri-field meter and check out the levels. I've also been wandering around the house and checking levels around other gadgets such as my iPad, computers, big-screen TVs, etc. Microwave is clearly the biggest. I have to back up about 10 feet for it to come down to the level of any of the other appliances. It really pegs the meter when the magnetron is on.

When I measured levels in the Prius, I made sure to put it down by my feet, And to note the change in level when I accelerated versus not accelerating. There is a very significant increase when I accelerated. This makes sense, because the motors are on the front wheels. I didn't know this thread was here on Prius chat, but now that I do I'll take some measurements and I will post the levels.

I would think this was all poppycock except that my feet have this incredible electrical feeling in them, which is more than just tremor like Parkinson's. The tremors were first felt in my legs, actually, when I was driving, several years ago. Since then, I continue to drive the Prius a lot and the sensations are getting almost unbearable at this point. I'm not saying there is a cause and effect here. Just a correlation. But I've gotten to the point where I'm willing to look into these things in hopes of solving the problem. When two MDs told me to take it seriously, I started listening, but still said I highly doubt that this is the problem. But now I'm wondering…
