Yay! That makes at least two people with more miles than me. At 22 months ownership, I have total 49k miles of which 13k are EV. I am quite satisfied that there is still no perceived range degradation after two years despite an average 1.7 full charges a day. (2 per weekday & 1 per weekend day)
Purchased 7/28/12 40,200 miles 33% ev I'm hooked on EV's so the PIP is for sale and I'm buying a Rav4 ev and having it shipped to NY from California. I can't wait!
Purchased - 01/23/13 9717 miles 76% EV (daily driver since Nov 2013 Since new Last fill up : 032914 - three bars remaining
By no means high total miles compared to a few entries, but here's my two cents worth- 29 months old today (purchased 3/6/12) 26,400 as it sits tonight, 10,560 EV miles, or 40% I'm mostly retired, no regular commute, no long road trips. (Seems like a lot of short trips for doctor visits though.) Mostly charge only once a day using the timer.
Almost 27,000 miles, owned for 21 months. I have noticed EV mileage has been slowly dropping over time.
Mine has also varied throughout the four months I've owned the PiP. My gut tells me that it's a combination of temperature, driving patterns and the amount of residual charge in the hybrid battery after each trip.
I have a 2012 Plug-in Base model that I purchased in April 2012. Currently at 55k miles as I have a 100-mile commute per day. Around 10% EV miles as I can only charge at home.
Yes, still on the original tires, but time to replace them. I asked here what to replace with and seems like Michelin Defender is in the lead.
Damnit Bisco why do you have to be a buzz kill? I've drooled over a set of defenders for years, vs. fuel max etc..., and you have to plant that seed of doubt.
sorry! i have read here that defenders can be costly to the tune of 5-7 mpg's. i have no personal experience. michelin energy saver a/s keeps the mpg's but do not handle as well as the defenders.
there are so many tyre threads here, it's impossible to look at them all. i just saw one knocking the defenders, and i can't even remember what the title was.
Remember, even if the Defenders might get worse gas mileage they still may be cheaper in the long run because of how many miles they are good for.
