No luck with the card holder in the US.

 

What's the point of a credit card holder in a car? That's just screaming break in and steal my CC!

 

To pay tolls... many take CC now.

I'd love to have that for the parking card for the garage at work. Now I use the cupholder in the console, and it's a bit of a pain to open and close every time I need that card.

 

Not truly obscure, but you don't need a backup camera to improve your rear view. Just take off the rear headrests if you don't have passengers in the rear seat. I have a much better view from the rear view mirror now or just turning around and looking back.

Again, leave them in if you have passengers.

 

You can tilt the headrests down can't you?
Tilt forward rear headrests was on the Pre-production vehicles we saw at Prius Connection Detroit, it did make it into the US production car didn't it?
Australian Prius don't get it.

 

I tilted the headrests in mine down and flipped the seats down just a couple of days ago.

 

So don't remove them, just flip them down. Then anyone getting in the back seat will need to flip them back up.

 

You flip the seats, but you tilt the headrests. I would never try flipping the headrests or tilting the seats.

Or maybe you tilt the headrests down, but flip them up.

 

Small point - those in U.S. that like DRLs (Daytime Running Lights), there is an easy alternative. Put the parking lights on (one click on the headlight stalk). The parking lights (small lights above the headlamps) and tailights go on. Best part, you can leave them switched on if you'd like as they automatically turn off when the car is powered down and the door is opened. And go on again when the car is started.
I believe they would draw little power as the tailamps are LED and the parking lights are low wattage.
The Headlight-On reminder lamp in the MID does not illuminate when only the parking lights are on, only with the headlights.

 

I dont know that one. How do u get that about the "how far"?

 

Cycle through the "trip" options. One of them is distance till empty. Shows a little gas pump and miles with little arrows.

 

In my 2007, there are twin trip meters too, but they are just that - trip meters ... like running odometers. On the new trip meters, they keep a running total of fuel economy for each - A or B. You reset each one by holding your finger down on the touch tracer button and start fresh on each. You'll see the fuel economy charting within a mile on each, so two people can have a mileage challenge as each resets their trip meter. Is that more clear a description? I had two going yesterday myself - taking a car to Pasadena to a client, I had one that I started when I left the dealership, and one I did after I got out of horrible traffic and wanted to see the "smooth sailing" end of fuel economy. AFter restarting B when the traffic cleared, I had the car up to 64 mpg till I got off the freeway... and averaged to 57.3 when I got to the house. In traffic on the way, I was at a paltry 43.9 ... you an reset at any time, and especially when you swap off drivers on a trip. Not just measure miles, but mileage AND miles per trip meter.

A little funny?

The very first Prius 2010 I sent to its new home was to a local couple, super sweet... red IV with gray leather. Anyway, they brought the car in for us to add the alarm... and the service writer logged the car in as having 600+ miles. The client said "hey I just saw this! How can my new car have 600+ miles on it? I just brought it home and then back today! No way have I driven 600 miles."

Well, they obviously did not have 600+ miles, but as I walked to service to see the car, I realized that when my service writer had done was cycle thru the hologram trip screens and came upon the "how many miles left till empty" and thought it was the odometer! Got a good laugh out of that one. I showed him the new screens and to watch for the ODO to show....

I don't think there are any LEDs in the halogen headlight assemblies of the Pirus II - IV. Are you referring the the area below the parking lights and above the high beam? See circled area in pic below--from this thread:

Did you understand what I mean't or not?

 

Very useful. You can then move the dimmer "up a notch" to keep the MID at full brightness. This is how I am driving from now on.
