Poison ivy sucks. Big time. Hello all, I'm back. Yep. only 7 days early. why? well, because I am covered in welts. And they itch. Badly. Seems I got exposes to poison ivy/oak/sumac last weekend, and the "minor rash" that I had when I went to the retreat was really this huge, agonizing, sleep-stealing, insanity producing PI episode, just cranking up to ruin my retreat. I have not actually slept in 4 nights.
I HATE POISON IVY...and it loves me. I wind up in the hospital every time. You may have to get that steroid pak. Sorry to hear about it; don't scratch, it spreads. "ivy dry" helps some.
Sleeping in a room with a name, especially one named "Ivy", sounds a little kinky. In other news, I was trying to go without eating sweets today ... and failed. At this rate, I won't be in shape for my Speedos by summer ... unless I go for that "fat guy in the Speedos" look.
Thanks, Tom... just visualized you in speedos. I should still be in bed... but the itching woke me up again. It's getting better, but I'll be really glad when this is all done with.
Something in my house smells bad like a combination of wet newspaper and sauerkraut. It's not my feet. I hope its not a dead bird stuck in the furnace vent.
I'll bet it is a dead mouse. Check the backside of the fridge. If not, is there any chance you might have saved some sauerkraut in a rolled up newspaper? I do that sometimes.
I still have poison ivy effects in my hands. The swelling is pretty painful. It's nearly gone everywhere else, though. It didn't get in the way of working in the yard this past weekend, though. Planted some veggies, planted some fruit vines, moved some rock around.
I also did yardwork this weekend. We bought a new house in Nov and, of course, couldn't do any yard then. So after 5 months of dirt (and the inside sweeping it brings with it), we are FINALLY getting sod on Saturday. :cheer2: So we prepped this weekend and got the concrete curbing done, planted trees/rose bushes/etc, and put in rock and bark. It looks so nice now! But will look AMAZING come Saturday night. I am so darned excited!! And I'm sure my 19 month old son and my dog will enjoy actually having a "yard" instead of going outside to play in the dirt.
It's raining on the garden. I'm sure the fruit trees are happy about it, too. My blueberries need acidic fertilizer... the leaves are turning red... darn, I didn't order any this year.
A big black bird keeps picking the tops off of all my flowers and now I just have stumps in all my pots. I think it is a Morticia Adams bird.
That's a lot of laundry. I would have had to go out to the store to buy new undies. So how or where do you do laundry -- home washer and dryer, apartment building washer and dryer, laundromat, against the stones in a river or stream bank...?
Boo: There's a single washer and dryer pair in my apartment building. It's uber-cheap too. $1.50 per load for wash and dry. Unfortunately the light bulb in the laundry room burned out so you have to finish all your laundry before dark. Otherwise the laundry vampires will get you. bev: Yep - those public indecency fines can really add up after awhile.
