My Roomba is wandering around, vacuuming the floors... the cat is on my lap, wondering why I'm not actually petting her instead of typing. I'm still eating mostly raw, and it's really amazing! I have enough recipes now (and keep finding more) that I can 'not cook' for the rest of my life!
In this, my year of living cheaply, I tend to buy and cook only foods that I like and that are on sale at my local supermarket. This week, because of the upcoming St. Patrick's Day, corned beef, cabbage and potatoes were on sale. Corned beef was $1.99 a pound for thick cut, $2.99 a pound for thin cut. Cabbage was $0.39 a pound. Potatoes were $1.50 for a 5 pound bag. Because I like corned beef, cabbage and potatoes and they were on sale, I bought some and cooked them up earlier this evening.
I love to put stuff like that in a huge crock pot and let it cook all night. I went to eat at this great place today way out in the country in an old wooden former store (gorcery). I has floors that are old wood and all leaning and crooked and the food is all homemade...and it was a buffet!!!I am stuffed. I had at least seven different deserts. Yes I have committed one of the seven deadly sins on Sunday.
I can think of a worse operating system than Vista. OK, so I can't. I just wanted to know if I could type that without giggling. I couldn't.
I've taken a liking to the Trader Joes Spicy Lentil Wraps. So this weekend I attempted to make them myself at home (including the spicy tahini sauce). I think I was successful. It's not quite the same taste but close enough. It was a solid 7.0 on the yumminess scale. I'll try tweaking the portions in the future and see if I can't bump that score up. Lentils: the workhorse of the bean family.
One cat likes drinking out of the fish tank, one won't. One cat likes the new dog, one don't. One son wrote to me, one phonedt. Will this make headlines? It won't.
It's 4:15 a.m., my DH is getting ready for work. I have a cat on my lap. I'm going back to bed now...
StevO, I just noticed that in your signature you spell the color of our cars as "Magnetic Grey". Don't know if you know this, but Toyota actually spells it "Magnetic Gray".
I always use grey, and then spellcheck says that it is wrong, use gray. I think it's a word whose spelling has morphed.
Either way is OK. Brits spell it grey, and Americans mostly spell it gray. Toyota spells it grey in the UK market (Decuma Grey) and probably in other non-US English speaking markets as well, and gray in the US market (Magnetic Gray).
Gee, I thought it was a do-it-yourself thread for building bookshelves. Today I tried the same combination on 50 locks. None of them opened. Don't ask me why I did it. That would be a long story and too boring for even this thread.
