I installed HIDs in mine (5000K) and they work well in the winters (shortest day is 7.5 hours of daylight, not as bad as Norway but closer than most PCers). They're supposed to use 35W each vs. 55W for the stock halogens.

If you need more light in your main beams, I've used Phillips X-Treme Power halogen bulbs (it's been a few years so it's possible that has been replaced with a newer version). Check out powerbulbs.com for halogen options for your main beams. Osram Night Breaker Unlimited is one option that shows up when I searched for both dipped and main beam options for maximum performance.

Just get a good quality HID kit that's plug and play and you're done. It's the most economical way in terms of money and you get the best of both worlds in terms of function and appearance.

These triple sided lights can now be found on ebay. They use about 50 watts per bulb which is the same as a standard halogen bulb, I think.

Would interesting to see how they work.
    Could it be too much?
