More Frequent Oil Changes For Better Resaleability

Since I have an '06, I'm going only by what I have heard, but doesn't the service due indicator come on to remind you that a tire rotation/inspection service is required at 5K intevals?

 

There is a commercial on now showing a Doctor operating a jack hammer in the street. Then it shows the jack hammer Operator being asked if he should diagnose his own condition.

 

well that be strange and for most of Canada, i can agree due to extreme weather, but Vancouver does not really qualify as extreme. Calgary ok, but Vancouver?

 

The car does not know that Toyota has changed the oil change interval yet. Maybe they will change the software if possible in the future.

 

I thought that I'd read they left it at 5k for reminders due to other visual checks, tire rotations, etc. Although, that may be speculation or I could be mistaken.

 

That would be a good reason not to change it, but I have no idea.
