More evidence that animal life forms are better stewards of the earth than humans

Gotta love the reverse psychology there. @bisco s post above about how humans treat each other.

 

One creature does puzzle me, the aptly named Tasmanian Devil. Oh, and Komodo Dragons.

 

Komodo Dragons are very interesting. They 'nick' you then stalk you, waiting for you to succumb to their bacterial infection.

Yeah that little technique in particular bugs me; not a cheery way to spend the last week of your life.

Or maybe it's their aggressive attitude that puzzles. They are bastids.

The idea that (other) animals (and plants) care for the world better than humans may not be the most illuminating way to look at things.

Animals and plants change their structures and behavior sover time. Successful changed are shown by improved reproductive output, fixing such behaviors into populations. Changes may involve more than one species. So commensalism and symbiosis can develop. This sounds groovy, and it is. Humans have joined with several other species: crop plants, honeybees, horses, dogs, honeyguide birds, etc. And those are all groovy too. But it seems they are each 'means to an end' as opposed to some higher purpose.

In my opinion, most human activities are detrimental to the wider world, and many contrary examples exist. No other (plant or) animal species is doing things like that of either type.

 

Bonobos as a group are amazingly mellow. Antithesis of Taz devils. So much so that it gets into what we'd call pornography. Human delicacy prevents them from becoming cartoon characters.

When they get really hungry, they eat things most of us would only consider if we were in the wild naked and afraid.
