You love all cars except Tesla, but yet you hang out on this sub-forum. You apparently have a smartphone and computer too. These items are the Teslas of personal electronics. They certainly have no soul like a rotary telephone or a typewriter. Do you love breathing the poisonous emissions of ICE doing its thing too? How do you switch gears in your Prius? Toyota's history in racing is lackluster at best.
Toyota racing history is far from lack luster, you need to research this again. ICE are cleaner now then ever have been. Factories of industry and of power plants are far more life threating then any new ICE in the US. I am not against the idea of Tesla or hate them, I just don't care for their designs and lack of interiors. Switch gear as in push buttons, levers and controls on the dash. Nothing to do with a gearbox. I actually don't hang out on anyone particular subform. I just happen to come across them.
I don't think so. ICE are dirty compared to BEV, As far as factories and power plants, it is not either or. You have just acknowledged that those facilites are a threat too. They all need to b cleaned up. And you drive a Prius? People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Yup, switches, buttons, and dials right up there with hand cranks. If it was a snake, it would have bit ya!
I'm glad we have threads like this one to keep us focused on the important things, such as paint quality and buttons rather than the frivolous stuff like energy efficiency, reduced emissions, clean air, etc. Mike
One of our friends has an X and they were over our house awhile back. opened the rear passenger door while one of the neighbors was out and you could see the surprise on their face. Definitely a nice ride but pricing is too high for us.
The model X is 2x the cost of the RX450h . But where else can you get full wing doors? We’ll keep saving our pennies.
Not sure but probably a lot . It’s a nice ride, but the cost I couldn’t justify as the RX450h is plenty nice. The wife now avoids our 2010 . Even my mpg justification for the Prius being the trip car will probably begin losing out. But the cooled seats make the longer trips worth that tradeoff.
We just completed a trip to a couple of the wineries we are members of yesterday and it was a bit rainy. I told te wife we were going to take the Prius as it wasn’t a long trip and the mpg would be better. A staunch “no” was given and the rebuttal was “what if they make us park in the field. We’ll take the RX”. Since the RX has 20 inch rims and “all season” tires, I responded back that if they made us park in the field, the RX would be worse. She wasn’t buying it. It was nice to have heated seats and steering wheel though. 50’s and rain make it sooooo cold out here:
I have a colleague who just retired that lives in Michigan. The last time he was out with his wife we went wine tasting with them and they ended up becoming members at one of the ones we took them to. I sent him a pic from yesterday and hoped they were staying warm. His response was they bought a second house in FL and are there now and for awhile longer. Didn’t take them long to become snow birds.
nice! if it were up to me, i'd be here from november through april. well, cali preferred, but neither is likely.
Just visit the Sac family after returning . The mustard is out in the fields and daffodils are blooming. We even took a long drive yesterday after the release party to enjoy the surroundings.
