Misfire continues

    Just have a question has anyone ever took apart a egr valve to clean it i would like to clean my old one and keep it for a spare since we have 3 2011 prius in our stable now ,I have it tore down but do not see how the rod/valve an spring unclip ,just wanting to remove it to get a better clean ,if not I will put my rain suit back on an head back to the car wash lol

    I’ve cleaned them several times:).

    Use an impact screwdriver to take the 2 screws off of the black housing on top of the valve. Once those are removed, you’ll get the cylindrical magnet and spring off and have access to the valve;).

    I say impact screwdriver as the materials are dis similar requiring a blunt force to free them. If you try to use a normal Phillips screwdriver, you’ll mar the heads and need new screws:(.
