    My Mini VCI works fine on Windows 7, 32 bit OS running over BootCamp on my MacBook Pro. (It is very strange to see a Windows screen on a MacBook.)

    What's even stranger is to see a Dell laptop running OSX (*not* Photoshopped!):

    I'm using an Acer note book with the Windows 7 Starter, which is 32 bit. Others haven't had any problem with Windows 7 as long as it was 32 bit.
    I can get the TIS to install but just having problems figuring out the configuration patch stuff.
    I spent the better part of the 4th holiday trying to figure out the configuration on this thing. They bundled two different manual versions. (3 days apart in the file dates) the last one was for the VCI dongle. While the earlier was for the Xhorse or something. Plus the TIS software version is 9.10.037 and none of the doc. or videos show an accurate representation of the configuration or file structure for the "cut and paste" hack, etc.. There is also a TISKEY.exe file that bombs out each time to try to run it with error messages that it didn't install or do what it is suppose to do.

    I finally managed to get the vendor to respond after giving this product a bad review regarding the installation documentation. They just got back to me, begging me to with draw my negative comment. Can't do much with them until next week. (I hope they have a better weekend than I have had.

    If anyone is working with the latest 9.10.xxx version, I would appreciate some assistance.

    Thank,
    Steve

    One thing different with mine vs some of the other installs is there is no 3rd party patching filed or keys or anything.
    I installed 9.00.25 and used notepad to edit IT3System.ini in program files (x86 if applicable) / Toyota Diagnostics / Techstream / Env
    Scroll down to:

    Available Function Setting

    [AvailableFunction]
    MinorFunction=1
    TISFunction=1
    UserFunction=1

    Simply change TISFunction=1 to TISFunction=0

    That worked for the version of 9.00.25 I have. I see lots of other methods depending on the version out there, but it absolutely works for mine.
    I was able to get it working perfect on a win8.1 touchscreen laptop using (Solution) Mini VCI + Toyota TIS Techstream 8.x on Windows 7/8 64-bit. - Toyota 4Runner Forum - Largest 4Runner Forum

    Edit: because my version of techstream installed differently, I think I skipped to step four in the above link (and again that's only if you want to install it on a 64bit machine)

    I recently installed V9.10.037 and followed the same steps as outlined above by KhaPhoRa. The software works fine, no patches or keys are needed. I've read on another forum others have been been using this method since 7.x was released.

    It does not, you need to use BootCamp and load Windows 7 32 bit OS.
