I didn't get that feeling at all, I thought the dash looked pretty cool, but not necessarily practical. The 'heads-up' display for the navigation is apparently the plastic thingy sticking up in the middle of the dash on the post. Maybe that could be used for other MFD functions, altho obviously not a touch screen. They also mention RPM in the center dash display, so if it is a hybrid, as they claim a couple times, it's not the typical Toyota hybrid, or else they have a bit of design work left to do. Also, I didn't understand the 3+1 seating - is that because the back seat isn't wide enough for two adults or is there a different layout (not completely side-by-side?).

Also, they mentioned the European market and European design center, etc. No word if it would be considered for the American market.

Nope... but with a size like that, 1.0 litre should be adequate which would make it more efficient than a Yaris (esp. since it's smaller and lighter than a Yaris).

If only the HOV stickers were transferrable......

Cool car, but my bike won't fit thru the hatch, and the interior shot shows a 5 speed stick shift. What makes anybody think its a new gen Prius? Looks like a typical Euro type city car to me. Cool though.

Notice the little display (clear, heads-up) on top of the dash. The first image in the sequence shows a closeup of the menu screen with selections for settings, nav, and phone. Other images show it in nav mode. I would suspect is commanded from the rotary switch to the driver's right.

I like it. It looks like a good, cheap, hybrid. I'm assuming that if this goes into production it'll probably cost around the same as an entry level corrola, maybe even a bit cheaper.

    Sweet!

Not to be a parrot, but I want to see the MPG, a plug-in electric a la the discontinued Ford Th!nk would be better, and I'd definately buy one of these as a commuter.

Also notice that underneath that folded brow of the instrument panel that there is a display similar in position to the Prius display. (See the 9th image.) The right hand corner of that display is visible in the image appearing to show the inside temperature control settings. In the same image the function display mounted on top of the brow is showing a nav system display.

It would appear that Toyota is giving considerable thought to instrumentation.
