Rohan81, I feel your pain. But I am holding out for what I want. If I settle for something else I will always question the move. Odd when you have to beg for a car.
correct, they are all over both coasts, and still arriving. dealers are clueless, and toyota customer service can be at times as well.
It is a 2017 model, and we still have a couple weeks of 2016 left. Toyota is hoping to sell 30k in North America with this model year. First month sales were great, not something to foretell Toyota selling more than that.
Maybe I should drive to Nebraska and sell you mine for a greatly inflated price, then drive back to Maryland and get another. Maybe even in red. BTW, what color combo did you order?
That would be great but don't come right now. Ice and snow everywhere and -25 wind chill here. I have a friend who spent 8 hours without moving on I29 last night. Eventually, highway patrol funneled them all to a truck stop for the night. My combo is silver with black interior. I really want to buy local. If I buy or fly to the coast to get one you still have to have it serviced locally. I can see them looking at it and saying we don't know how to service this.
Well I guess being in the midwest I have the "benefit" of not having any chance of getting one for a long time, so none of this affects me.
Pair of Silver/Blacks s at Passport in DC/MD. Been listed a week or so and not taged "in transit". 1 Adv. with aero side spliter and 10 spoke alloys like Pizza Driver's pkg. 1 Plain Premium. I don't know this dealer, other side of town.
Just got an e-mail from the salesman at my local dealership where I ordered my Prime back in November. Was originally told my Prime would be arriving early January but now it appears that the car didn't get out before production was halted. Doesn't really bother me since I was already told it wouldn't arrive by the end of 2016 (for tax credit purposes) so now I'm just hoping the tax credit will remain for this year (2017). Don't suppose anyone has actually confirmed if Toyota halted production or if they are just trying to match demand in California first?
Dianne still keeps reporting new allocations and new ships arriving with cars on them, so I'm still dubious that production was actually halted.
same here. don't know if the dealers are making excuses, or toyota allocators are telling them, 'production is halted, for you'. it could be that if you didn't pony up when the opportunity was there, the dealers that did are getting orders filled first.
The Dealer in Flemington, NJ (where I got my Premium) has three. When I bought mine 2 1/2 weeks ago they had 3 which sold, now they seem to have gotten three more. None of the dealers in PA (just across the river) have any.
Don't know, but it could explain why the Prime isn't in Pa yet. NJ was scheduled to get the Volt before us too.
I got mine in Delaware when my long time sales guy (3 previous Prius purchases) traded a Rav4 Hybrid for the Advanced I wanted in the color I wanted. Put the deposit down on December 14th and picked the car up on December 29th. Without his car swapping, it was looking like at least late March or even April or May. It was the first one sold at that dealership and they never had gotten any before this.
