50/50 split is generous if the discounted price is half what you could have had it repaired for at any other Toyota dealership.
They can very easily inflate and pad their printed invoice cost in a way that 50% off of that price is not a real discount.
They are not required to do anything since it is past the 36K miles warranty agreed to, but they may not really be doing anything of value anyway if the before discount price is inflated.
