Lane Trace Assist keeps the car nicely centered in the lane. Isn't Lane Keep Assist just lane departure warning with active steering? I drove a car with Lane Keep Assist and it didn't steer until you almost went over the line. LTA in my Corolla keeps the car in the middle of the lane.
Go to YouTube and search for toyota lane tracing assist. It tries to keep the car in a lane, like lane keep assist. Apparently the Corolla has had this for several years.
Hmm, my understanding is that LTA is able to use the vehicle in front to “trace” the lane when the lane markings are not visible. I know it keeps it in the lane but I didn’t realize it was active. Ok. I’ve only seen the Toyota promo videos. The Corolla gained it last year (hatchback) and this year (sedan). Basically any car with TSS-P 2.0 has LTA (Corolla and RAV4. Soon Tacoma and Tundra)
It uses the car in front if the lines are not available. But normally it uses the lines and it tries to keep the car centered in that lane. It works fairly well, especially on larger roads. On twisty roads it can't keep up. I use it mainly on larger roads and speeds up to 120km/h above that speed I feel that it sometimes struggles.
