I used to make a lot of trips like this in my previous Toyota. I put 305,000 miles on that Toyota and had less than $1,000 in repairs over 10 years excluding new tires. Those I replaced around 80,000 miles. My front brakes were replaced once at 170,000 and the rear were never replaced.

So far on my existing Prius I have 80,000 miles with zero repairs and both my snow tires and summer tires look new.

Making a 3,000 mile trip on a Toyota will not contribute to any wear and tear. Toyota makes the most reliable cars in the world. Take advantage of that and never buy an extended warranty.

Truckers just use gallon jugs. You see them by the side of the road near truck stops.

But no need for that. It's good to stop when you need to go, walk around, change position vs. having an accident because you had an accident with pee bucket at 70 mph.

Now adult diapers, there's a plan.

My guess is that OP has an extended TDY or he really likes driving! I did my share of TDYs and I always made mini-vacation out of them. Download TV Food Maps app (iPhone/Android) and hit as much of those food places that you see on TV!!!

Highway 70 through Utah is much more scenic than Highway 80 through Northern Utah. Try to take the Highway 70 route, if possible.
