Autoblog says there's going to be a dedicated Eco trim, with even greater fuel efficiency.

    Eco-model to exceed 10% improvement:

With an expected ten percent improvement in EPA estimated MPG on core models, Prius will offer best-in-class fuel economy among vehicles without a plug. A soon-to-be unveiled Eco model will achieve an even greater improvement, strengthening Toyota’s leadership in hybrid fuel efficiency.

I would have preferred a few additional storage spots above the steering wheel and glove box like they have on the C. It would make the dash look much less boring and plain.

This ad is arguably better than the live presentation and has a few short dashboard shots:

    Wow!
Toyota made the unexpected happen with that reveal.

Because I expected something so much better.
I expected more information and a better look.

I feel like I've been hoodwinked and bamboozled.

    Hey...really, when's the REAL reveal?

Why the hell would they make an "Eco" trim... I guess they get to charge more now for it.

I like how they added the Prius name to the chrome sections of the cabin's air vents. Looks like you can now set the AC to Eco mode without having to also change the powertrain to Eco Mode. I am pleased with the relocation of the side mirror controls. I am disappointed in the fact that they stuck with the same homelink mirror design that I have been complaining about for ages. I wished they had added a mirror with multiple light sensors. The current design can't compensate for the split window in the back of the Prius. Looks like the contrasting stitching is gone along wit the dual glove boxes.

I like the exterior, although that isn't all that important to me. I can't imagine what they spent so much time on since they decided to delay introduction so they could make the car look better. It does look better but it seems they could have come up with that design in a couple of days. I'm not sure who their target market is with the redesign.

I can live with the console. The flying buttress is gone. But I find the whole thing from the top gauges down and back to the arm rest to be hideous. I sure hope the white parts are not standard. If the white is standard perhaps my friend with a plastics forming business can make a bundle by selling a replacement in different colors.

    Need LOTS more information.

They said on Periscope the car had blue stitching.

Has anyone seen a HUD ?
I like the look of the new Prius, but if it doesn't have a HUD,at least as an option,I will probably keep my gen. 3 !
Why on earth would they want to take that away?
    Any word on ambient lighting?
LED Headlamps as standard is ok,but without adaptive LED Headlamps toyota seems way behind the competition!
Automatic high beam isn't bad,but it seems outtated,it's not the latest tech !

Unless they've done all of the following, I'm not on their customer list:

    1) Fixed the $#&)*@ radio controls so they work logically (as in the 2nd Gen)
    2) Put the "Map" button back on the steering wheel where it belongs (as in the 2nd Gen)
    3) Provided as much storage as in the 2nd Gen model
    4) Provided full voice pass-through for hands-free smartphone functions
    5) Provided a "Pause navigation" feature (as in the 2nd Gen), not just "Delete destination"
    6) Put a hand-grip on the retracting trunk cover
    7) Put a real spare tire in the plug-in version
    8) Eliminated the annoying delay between touching the outside lock button and the actual locking
    9) Provided more streaming services, such as Spotify
    10) Increased the front ground clearance so it doesn't scrape the plastic shrouds every time you back out of a driveway

Those are only the first ten annoyances that come to my mind in 5 minutes.

Where did you see the side mirror controls?

It looks like Toyota stuck with the cruise control stick still rotating with the steering wheel. After seven years of driving the Prius, and 6 with the 4Runner I still have to hunt for that thing. I wish it was stationary like the directional signals and wiper sticks.

Don't exaggerate. It was 6 minutes and 53 seconds of pure vacuous marketing fluff, entirely devoid of anything useful. In other words, standard marketing - worse than useless.

I certainly agree with that one. The front end of our Gen II scrapes quite often. I've had to learn to back out of the driveway at an angle to prevent it scraping every time. It is possible the Gen IV is worse because it is lower to the ground.

With the photos from the airplane being released a few days ago we have already seen the exterior. There was NOTHING new in the presentation. I'm very disappointed in Toyota. They spent a lot of money, built expectations, and wasted the time of hundreds of people, not to mention the 10's of thousands of us peeking in from the internet.

I hope details will be released at the show in Germany on the 15th.
