LED's and Tpms

    Yeah I guess I have to find a better aftermarket camera. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Maybe a first experiment would just be a shielded cable on the one you've got?

    Assuming you peel the cable that's on it and confirm your suspicion that has no shield....

    After peeling it to confirm it really has no shield, and the problem isn't something else....

    Getting to the cable probably means pulling a lot of trim from the back of the car to the front. Then you could maybe wrap the whole cable with foil tape and tape in a wire pigtail at one end to ground it. On the other hand, the local electronics store probably sells nice shielded cable by the foot....

    Thanks for the advise. I went back to the shop that installed the camera and they said they would take care of it which was pretty cool of them. I go back on Tuesday to get it done will update after. I have not had a tire light issue since the camera was disabled so the camera must have been the problem.

    I would try bypassing a ferret or skunk........or if all else fails.........a raccoon...........

    Some aftermarket tpms sensors do not output a strong signal which makes them harder to receive when aftermarket rf generators like cameras, gps, or led headlights with built in regulators (halogen replacements) are in the vehicle.

    Oem tpms sensors are less likely to be blocked. So when they are changed due to worn sensor batteries you can end up with two causes, the new sensor(s) and the rf generating aftermarket headlights, camera or gps. It is possible the front tpms are blocked while the back are not since the receiver is in the back. It is likely the weak sensors will work with tpms test tools used next to the wheels.

    It is possible to clear the TPMS fail code with a scanner but it will return after ~20 minutes of driving.
