Well, this is a confusing response (to me). Watts are not a measure of light output. So, the real question is; is the light output of these cheap LED replacement bulbs dimmer than the OEM incandescent bulbs? I know that you (darrell) have the super quality, hand made LED bulbs which are better then the OEM bulbs, but are these cheap knock offs better or worse than the OEM bulbs.

First off... I need to apologize for being so negative on these import drop-ins. Problem is, I've just spent way to much on these over the years, and so few mfgs want to even try and make quality units. The name of the game is "cheap" and so even if somebody DOES make a good one, you'll be hard pressed to find it except by accident. OK... so that's out of the way.

I wish I had an answer for you, but alas, I do not. Using 5 or 3mm LEDs to make these things allows the product to be cheap - but you likely won't be happy with the output, or the durability of the unit. They typically overdrive the snot out of these things (which pushes the light frequency toward the angry blue) - and they also are almost never regulated. V spikes will kill them.

Correct. Sorry for any confusion. I gave two answers. The first part was about the concern about these LEDs units consuming more than 5W. That has nothing to do with brightness, just energy consumption. My answer is that there is no way they can dissipate 5W. If they tried, they'd burn up instantly.

And the other part of my response - my comment - was that yes... the output of the cheap LED replacements will be dimmer than the OEM incandescents.

They'll use less energy and they will produce less light. The ones that I was making used less energy and produced MORE light.

    ok
    today i got new ones
    8000mcd

a lot better then the 600mcd from the firts time
i think 800mcd is the minumum for parking lights
i wil make a picture when its dark.

only can not use these for backlights and licence plate lights because there directional
and then the reflector off the backlight is not working
i need some led that are bydirectional...

shame i only found those in the US and need them in the eu... for a small price that these leds cost i not going to pay for shippng that is a lot more then the leds only.
