Thanks for the update and take your time - good pics are much more helpful than rushed poor quality pics. :)

I just installed my LED's for the map light. Now I need to know which ones to get for the dome and interior front doors. I got the ones KK6PD talked about for 7.24 for the pair. Really brightened up the prius.

I look forward to seeing if you find out anything on this. In the meantime I've ordered a Tridon LM449 flasher that is supposedly Toyota and LED compatible (but doesn't mention that it lacks the flash during locking) -- we'll see if it supports the flash during locking since I rely heavily on the visual cue.

Knowing my luck it won't even work at all and I'll be out the $30 plus be set back a week while I wait for a CF18-08 to arrive. :D Speaking of which, does anyone know the difference between the CF18-08 and CF18-04? My Google-Fu is rusty and I am unable to find the information I'm looking for.

    Thanks!

Well, so much for taking pics, I left the little plastic bag with the bulbs on the dining room table the day before we got the week of rain. One of our 3 cats has decided that it belonged somewhere else in the house......and she ain't meowing the location where she hid it.
Sometimes cats can be a royal pain.. still gotta love 'em tho!

I am sure they will turn up, I am just glad I did not leave the Nikon next to the bag...that too would probably be with the bulbs now.

Still looking into info on the flashers..

Thank you Madison, Muffin, and or Squeak.
Personally I think it was a team effort

You just got to talk baby talk to her/he and it will take you to them.
I was looking forward to those pics because I will be ready to start the led's on the outside soon. :)

    Noooo!

So it would seem that the Tridon LM449 flasher is the same as the CR18 module -- no flash upon lock. I'm very disappointed.

Looks like all my hope is now on you, KK6PD!

    EDIT:
Hey hey, looks like I was too hasty in my assessment. Tonight, after I finished installing some interior LEDs, I locked the door and noticed a teeny tiny flash from the driver side. I couldn't believe my eyes and so I hit the lock button again and there it was again.
So it looks like you get a really really quick ( <1 second ) flash of the LEDs on the driver side upon locking with the Tridon flasher. Nothing on the passenger side though.

I guess I can live with this for now, but I would really like it if the passenger side did it too. I'm thinking because it is only on the driver side that it's a fluke. It for sure didn't work when I only had rear LEDs and not forward ones. Now that I have LEDs all around I get the driver-side mini-flash.

    Food for thought.

    EDIT2:
Bah! The driver-side micro-flash is intermittent. I cannot reliably duplicate its occurrence and after playing with it for a while I've concluded that it's more likely to not flash than flash. This is for both locking and unlocking.

    Bummer.

as long as I have the beep, I'm fine...I can't see the front or rear of the car anyway when I lock the car with the door handle button(s).

Not many details coming forth on flasher info, however I have been toying with the idea of LED DRL's.. what do you all think?

Good idea in theory however I would prefer a different application. The PS you did there just made the Prius look like a Neon/SX2.0. I would suggest the foglights (since they're useless anyway). Msantos has done LED DRL mods on his HCH-II. In Canada, the Civic uses the high beams at reduced power for DRLs. MSantos just swapped them out for LEDs (cause he figures he won't use his high beams anyway). My suggestion is follow what he did but apply it to the foglights instead.

I'd put them on the lower grill somewhere, the upper grill is too narrow IMO....maybe just inside the fogs....

Thats why I threw this out there. Actually I was thinking also dead center of your two pics, in line with the driving lights. My concern was they woud be too low for effective viewing at a distance. But I like your ideas!!!

    Hey guys,

I am German, and since I am German, I am a perfectionist. Yay for Germans :) (OK, for all you Americans out there, that was sarcasm). Anyway. I did two pics with "LEDs", so please comment.

there you go....looks the best IMO.

I don't have the fogs, so I'd just go all way to the corner....humm got me thinking about this now!

BUT...I have yet to see Audi like intensity LEDs for DRL....anywhere....
