I saw a Blue Leaf Saturday morning at the Seattle To Portland Bicycle Classic start line. Its vanity plate clearly betrayed an avid cyclist, likely someone supporting the event, not riding in it. This was my first blue sighting in the wild (DaveinOly's was on display, not wild, when I saw it.) Later, saw an Altima Hybrid with a bike rack on the course, likely a rider's personal support. Then a PHV Prius parked at a business in Renton. Or at least, a Prius with paint scheme very similar to some of the PHV pictures we have seen.
finally saw one on the way home from Snoqualmie on Saturday. saw a black one in Auburn. still waiting to see another one in Olympia. now i do know one of the other Leaf Owners and where she works, so that one does not count
Two new sightings this week. Yesterday, a white Leaf with a government or business decal on the door entered I-5 far ahead. From the view I wasn't completely sure of its identity, but noted its taillight / turn signal pattern. Today, saw a black one in the same parking garage as my first red sighting, in a section I very rarely pass through. And closer inspection revealed the same rear light pattern noted yesterday, confirming that sighting.
Saw a black one going west on the 520 floating bridge towards Seattle last week or so. I saw a blue one in San Jose near Blossom Hill Road yesterday. It was turning into a strip mall near In-N-Out.
Have not seen a Leaf yet' but saw a Volt today driving past White Plains NY today. It is busy looking, but overall pretty darned sharp. However as I passed it the driver was texting.
Today was my first 3-Leaf day. It doesn't seem that long ago (well, two years ago) that I hadn't seen that many G3s in the same day. Two repeats, though the second was driving for the first time, entering the parking garage immediately behind me. And a blue Leaf with a large 'Zero Emissions' decal on the side. This one was new to me, but in an area making it very likely to be one of Cwerdna's previous sightings. Another sighting, not exactly in the wild, was in the West Seattle parade over the weekend. A blue one defiled by political campaign signs, by otherwise nice enough to prompt comments from several cycling companions.
Our evening walk upgraded this to a 4-Leaf day. Blue, still with dealer placards, and the first Leaf sighting in our neighborhood. :cheer2: Don't yet know if it lives nearby, or was just passing through. I still haven't spotted a Volt in the wild.
well since GM has not seen fit to include WA in the Volt launch area Fuzzy, i would not look too hard for one right now
So that's why wild ones are exceedingly scarce. I though I was just missing them. I did get to see and touch a pair of Volts on display in Redmond last week. No test drives there, but drives were being offered at the sponsoring dealer over the weekend. Cwerdna reported a Volt sighting in Redmond some time ago. I wonder where it was registered. And I saw yet another Blue Leaf today, a block yesterday's Redmond sighting but without the Zero Emissions decal. But the glance was too brief to see if it might have matched any of my other blue sightings, none of which were anywhere near Redmond. Leafs are now becoming almost as common as pigeons and Civic Hybrids around here. But still far short of seagulls and Prii.
I will definitely try to make it. It'll be a lot easier for me to be there, this time. The Volt that I saw in the distance I believe had Arizona plates. I was in a fast food joint and saw it on the street, at an angle. I saw my 2nd Leaf in San Jose today. It was parked near a park in south SJ. Since I came back to CA, I've been doing way more driving than I did before leaving WA. I haven't seen that many Leafs in the Bay Area, yet.
Saw my first Silver Leaf in Redmond Friday. Five colors seen in the wild, I believe that completes the current palette. Since Cwerdna left, my sighting rate has jumped. Too bad he isn't seeing as many in the Bay area.
Saw a blue one at the above strip mall today. It was probably the same car. I was far from it but it looked like it had the white HOV stickers. BTW, the other sighting I had near a park the other day was a silver one.
ya, someone on FB reported seeing a Volt in Woodenville?? or somewhere heading East with $8,000 dealer markup. so if you want to see one, that would be the place to go. dont think its going anywhere anytime soon. also another report; the Chevy Volt is all but sold out which is reason why Leaf outsold it 4 to 1 last month. the ratio will be MUCH worse for July as Chevy is expected to report sales of about 100. so until the new model year is released they are out of the game
Saw a blue one in the Almaden Valley area w/o no plates yet nor white HOV stickers yet. I think this is different than the previous blue sightings I'd seen. Saw a red one today coming off 85 north at Almaden Expressway w/white HOV stickers.
Saw a silver Leaf the other day near Oakridge Mall in San Jose. It had some lights on time and decals that looked made it look like it was being used by a private security company. It was off in the distance, so I couldn't get a good look. Now that I'm back in CA, I haven't seen any Volts yet.
Volts are common sightings from Mt View up to Palo Alto. Drop in to Stanford mall (Palo Alto) aor Mt View's Castro Street area, in particular the parking areas and you're bound to see them around.
